Hayfield Football Coach Fired

Nah supporters of Overton are likely supporters of Trump. Both are rampant cheaters. Both are cut from the same cloth.

But our team practiced hard all week somewhat reluctantly and to be told a couple of hours before the game that we're done. No closure especially for the seniors. In every league their is always a team at the bottom. That was Robinson. Fine. But this last minute stuff is not right. But we are moving on because some of us have more in life than high school football.

This is spot on. You raised your kid right. Unfortunately for pathetic feebs like Overton and his supporters there is little more in their lives that high school football. That is why they have to live vicariously through kids and, oftentimes, sacrifice a kid's future for success on a high school football field. So sad.

To be fair, he has screwed over 9 of the 10 opponents he faced this season, as well as his own program and Freedom's. But hey, he has to live vicariously through kids...

Um I don’t think so

played HS won states himself
Played minor league won multiple titles
Played some Pro football
Opened up a successful youth program for football
Has a kid playing college football
Has family that played multiple years of Pro football
Put multiple kids in college athletics

I would think it’s safe to say football is what he does and knows. Can’t get that far bar cheating

The coach is the one person that will come out of this fine no matter what happens. Ultimately everything here good or bad should fall on Principal, the Athletic Director and Superintendents.

I don’t see how it falls on them either unless I’m missing something, they have to enroll that’s first, upfront does all the eligibility and housing stuff, because that’s who the AD and all have to go back and check with right or am I missing something

Since hayfield is going to play next week

I think it’s going to go like this

Regardless of how hayfield finishes the season with a region title and/or state title.

Overton will stay, principal will stay, AD will stay, superintendent already got contract extension on Thursday so she’s going nowhere.

Probably increased scrutiny on the program and the school in terms of enrollment and athletics (specifically football next year). And by scrutiny, I mean just quadruple checks on everything.

Two year ban lifted, maybe Overton gets a preseason suspension from vhsl but probably not.

In the end, a lot of hoopla with not a lot of results. In about a year or two, if hayfield athletics is looking less than stellar the AD will announce he is retiring (these jobs are pretty scarce in the county so people do not leave them). So they get someone new or an old ADSA and that person cleans up the mess some more.

Then five years from now the principal retires up shortly after superintendents contract expires and isn’t renewed. Principal just ends up with a sit job at gatehouse for five years then retires to the south. Michelle Reid heads back to WA state and fcps is finding the next superintendent.

And between now and then, they’ll be some other scandal the fairfax times reports about someone in some school that the authors of all the articles related to this one want to chase down. It’ll probably be about Bibles having to be in classrooms and teachers refusing to teach from them or something like that.

And look I know Overton recruited, please let’s not do the ask for proof thing, it’s been talked about to death here. I know the principal and the AD knew. Reid eh I think she probably figured it out but tried to save face in august and it came back and bit her with the vhsl investigation.

No ones getting fired, no one’s getting moved, really it’s the students that are going to suffer the most. And at the end of the day, if Overton and hayfield bring home a state title, I said this in august, people will look the other way and forgive. Mostly because winning it all usually turns everyone into a fanboy/girl.

I think maybe and myself included can’t stop the 130 page long posting about this whole thing not because it needs to go away but because it’s honestly done. They’ll be another hearing in December and I’d be shocked if it went against hayfield especially if they continue to win. If they lose, that hearing will get cancelled and there will be no post season ban.

I think now we need a new thread to argue about bibles being in every classroom. Or eliminating the dept of education, so that special education services in schools no longer receive federal funding or oversight.

Did you know that in the last three years, schools had to have iep meetings to give sped students services that may have not been rendered during covid as ordered by a settlement with the federal office of civil rights. Can you imagine that not being a thing anymore for some of our high needs students

Nicky Wolcott’s article was just published in today’s Washington Post. It appears FCPS is standing by all its schools and student athletes and showing no undue favoritism on any particular school.

“After Friday’s injunction was granted, FCPS said in a release that it “applauds the hard work and dedication of all of our student-athletes during the regular season, and we look forward to cheering on all of our participants in postseason competition over the next several weeks.””

Exactly. A lot of hate and extreme anger towards one side. It's sad.

Yeah...the cheaters really are blindly flailing and expressing a ton of hate and anger towards those who didn't cheat. They're really acting like petulant children. It is sad on their part. But then again, they're the same people who thought it was ok to lie to school authorities and possibly violate the law, so who could be surprised?

No it appears that FCPS has shown Hayfield undue favoritism all along.

Pure projection (look it up) on your part. Yet another pathetic, low-information Overton supporter.

BTW, I have said it to his face. He wasn't even man enough to muster a response. He is as pathetic as those who support him.

Closure is/was thesenior night. They admitted themselves that they shouldn’t even be there. If not for this whole entire situation, they would have packed up and started bball practice a week ago.

But aren’t they really PWC student-athletes? Is this a backhanded slap?

Yet again more projection on your part. Every time you post you prove me right. God you are pathetic. Is that you coach? Still mad you got smoked by the one good program you guys played all year?

All this can be solved real easily. Just show up at Hayfield and follow the cars home after practice (or slap them with some hidden air tags/trackers) the next few weeks and see if they go home to FFX or PWC. If it’s FFX, drop it. If it’s PWC document it and get back in front of a judge and catch them at it before their next game. It’s really simple.
