VA Public Schools other than FCPS
Not my area of the law and I haven't been following it super closely, but, yes, I think the districts are on solid ground legally for the time being based on the Grimm precedent. But apparently the issue is coming before the Supreme Court, so that could change with such a conservative Court, so we'll have to see how that part turns out. I thought the districts' ask to delay enforcement until after the Supreme Court rules was quite reasonable. It's wild how hell bent the Trump Admin is on pulling funding. It all appears highly political and agenda driven. This is not the normal way the federal government operates. |
Yeah, I've been using public restrooms all my life and I have never looked inside of a stall through the crack. You bend down and look for legs to see if a stall is occupied. Try this, PP, problem solved. |
The sex offender at W-L should not have been allowed anywhere near a locker room, whether it was the girls locker room or the boys locker room. This isn't a gender/trans issue, it's a sex offender issue. I don't get people trying to make it into a trans issue. Would they be ok with a sex offender in the boys locker room? I would not be ok with that at all. No one should be ok with that. APS changes its policy to screen sex offenders now before letting people into locker rooms, something they should have had all along. |
As people has been explained, the APS policy is the reason that person was allowed access despite complaints about their actual behavior. You’re saying the same person doing the same thing without a criminal record is fine. The policy is the issue. |
Pp you are talking to here. I don’t “look through the crack.” I don’t bend down to look under the door either! Thr point is, the crack was so wide that even just a quick glance at the door meant I was able to see the person well enough to make eye contact. |
PP you’re quoting here. I absolutely agree that ms/hs bathrooms are beset by lots of problems…. I just meant that having a trans kid in there is not problematic. But I wasn’t very clear about that. |

NP, and mom of middle school son in APS. My son, his friends, and teammates have no tolerance for bio girls in their locker room and bathrooms (I read their group texts as a condition of son getting a phone, mom can monitor it). They will chase them out.
This year, I expect him/them to get into trouble for harassment like the 2 Loudon boys. That said, I don’t expect any bio girls to enter. my son tells me about the conditions of the boys bathrooms, like feces smeared on the walls and occasionally dumps taken on the floor. He sometimes sneaks into faculty bathroom or unisex to escape the stench. |
You're saying you're ok with the same perv in the boys room. |
Exactly. |

I saw this elsewhere online & wondered if it’s a real pic. Does anyone know? |
Anyone else find it funny MAGA is pro women and girls rights in *this* context but not all others? By “funny” I mean deeply unsettling and frustrating |
Your mistake is thinking that everyone on the 90 side of this 90/10 issue is MAGA. |
Gross if this really happened |
Not 90. Certainly not in Arlington.
A few may not be hard core MAGA but they are happy to push MAGA propaganda. |
