In most elementary schools students who request to use use single adult bathrooms are allowed, because generally it’s a sign that they need it for some reason (bullying etc)

Federal funding - which is all that is at issue, not state - is far, far less than this. It's 2.8% in APS.

Has the state said they will pull state funding? Can they even do that?

No, it is an accommodation. Some kids are even granted it because of misbehavior in the regular bathroom

I am not the PP, but this type of response is why the MAGA types keep winning elections. There needs to be space under the Democratic tent for those of us who feel that trans men competing in women’s sports is deeply unfair to female athletes. It’s not a clear cut issue by any stretch of the imagination. Just look at what happened with Lia Thomas at UPenn three years ago and how that impacted top women swimmers who had dedicated their life to their sport.

Not PP, but that's still a lot. Look at how each budget session is hotly contested, with beloved programs on the chopping block every year before APS finds some way to make the numbers work (although sometimes not). And that's always over a fraction of a percent...2.8% loss would blow a hole in every school's mission.

There are boys in women’s sports, bathrooms, locker rooms, and prison cells. MAGA agents didn’t create this, the democrats did with the help of the ACLU, HRC and others. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. It’s not okay.
