VA Public Schools other than FCPS
I saw this elsewhere online & wondered if it’s a real pic. Does anyone know? |
Anyone else find it funny MAGA is pro women and girls rights in *this* context but not all others? By “funny” I mean deeply unsettling and frustrating |
Your mistake is thinking that everyone on the 90 side of this 90/10 issue is MAGA. |
Gross if this really happened |
Not 90. Certainly not in Arlington.
A few may not be hard core MAGA but they are happy to push MAGA propaganda. |
The GOP tested out some campaign topics several years ago and found that certain groups - older women - were very triggered by this narrative. So they have been leaning in HARD ever since. |
Apparently, it did (see thread in DC metro politics). The woman said it was “satire.” |
History lesson time. At one time, a lot of white people believed that blacks were inherently dirty, that the dirt was contagious, and that you needed to drain a pool if a black lady singer happened to dip her toe in it. People did not want their mouths anywhere near a black person put theirs. Was this justified in fact? No, but it didn’t keep WHITE CONSERVATIVES who called themselves CHRISTIANS from losing their minds at the thought that someone with the mark of Cain might share space with their precious wives and daughters. There are a lot of analogies here. No one has proven a trans woman is inherently dangerous or even half as dangerous as a cis male. And yet here we are - white conservatives who call themselves Christian losing their minds over the thought of someone dirty near their precious wives and daughters, yet again. |
I’m saying the complaints would have been taken seriously if boys and men complained about it in the men’s locker room. The reason women were ignored is the APS policy. |
Why? Why would the boys complaining about a man in the men’s room be taken more seriously? |
Look at what is happening in Loudoun county schools. Boys are not allowed to complain or even just tell their friends and classmates that they are uncomfortable. |
“Before Cox was charged in October, another woman told 7News that she told the pool manager about the situation in September 2024, but she said the manager allowed Cox to continue to use the girl’s locker room because he identified as transgender. The woman said she called the school board and reported the situation, but the Arlington School Board did not respond to her.” https://wjla.com/news/local/virginia-arlington-county-school-washington-liberty-high-school-woman-daughter-transgender-man-womens-girls-school-locker-room-commonwealths-attorney You should really find a more reasonable compromise position on this unless you want to see Winsome Sears as governor. It’s a slam dunk for republicans. |
We have a great compromise - a visitor identification system was put in place to keep out people who are on the sex offender list - like Richard Cox was at the time these incidents occurred- and ensure that they are getting no where near school locker rooms. In other words, someone is enforcing the sex offender list, and you’re no longer counting on an honor system for people who have proven they have no honor. This is a proportionate and appropriate response that directly addresses the root cause of how this guy (he is a guy, let’s be honest) ended up in the locker rooms. We can chase hypotheticals all day long, but last I checked, conservatives don’t like “overreach” when it comes to preachers molesting children or even psycho murders being deprived of their arsenals of guns, so this will have to do. |
1. How do you know she isn’t a woman? 2. Not all sex offenders are registered. Some haven’t been caught yet. This is such a bad look for Dems. All you have to do is revise to guarantee private facilities. Sure it feels like a step backwards, but sometimes you need to pick your battles. |
It’s real, unfortunately. |
