The 28 DC AA team isn’t any better. 1-3 and out of the playoffs.

DC AA made up of a lot of MD players that couldn’t make MD AA or AS

28 Class is notoriously weak in the DC area - overall DC/VA AA teams performed head and shoulders above the AS teams of all ages.

I have been following both teams to see which team is better

Both had one win. That’s great. They both must be terrible. until you look at the numbers. AS losses were by 7, 7, and 3

Then when you look at AA. They also had three losses which were by 1, 8, and 1.

So, if I had to say which team did better, I would have to go with AA as they very easily have gone 3-1 where AS doesn’t look like they were in any of their games

But again, I was not at either tournament, just looking at the numbers

Somewhat surprising as AS was made up of primarily Capital players who played together all season while AA was a mix of random MD/Dc girls many of whom are on lower ranked teams (aside from Heros second tier girls that didn’t make MD AA)

I think the big difference is other states (outside of MD) send their best players to AS so the competition there is tougher. DC AA team would lose to DC AS team.

You get people in a new environment where they can play differently instead of being pigeonholed into a certain style and a certain way Coach views them, and a lot of times you’ll see them play better and stronger. Most of the top 2026/2027 players are at All America this year. There were so many coaches there too! They have the some games that are televised on ESPNU too!

The difference was that AS was supposed to be made up of the top players from DC (Capital Blue). No one expected anything from AA. Maryland sent most of their top players to AA and they are 4-0 . Capital blue needs a reality check.

Capital Blue parents need a reality check. AA is the better event and has been for years.

Just a point of clarification, both had in person tryouts.

That being said, we all know many were added to the team who never tried out....

DC 30s had 1 tie, 2 1-goal losses, and 1 2-goal loss. It's not like they got blown out of the water.

People were put on the team that didn’t try out?

AS team was predetermined- tryouts don’t matter. Proof is that the truly best players are at AA and the team is successful.
