Why, from "all over"? It's not like they own the market on ECNL, as there are already 4 other ECNL teams in NOVA (McLean, BRYC, VDA, Loudoun).

Look at a map.

Not the PP but I did look at a map and in fact there are many, many ECNL clubs who serve a variety of communities. There is very little reason for most people to drive past possibly multiple clubs in NOVA traffic for another same as product. Arlington would have to truly separate itself from the pack to bring in top players from greater distances. Of course there will be a fairly regular player swap from U13-U15 between Arlington, McLean and BRYC but if there will not be this mass migration to Arlington.

It hasn't happened at any club frankly and I don't see why Arlington would be any different.

I think you are thinking there is no soccer inside the beltway. Arlington is easy access for anyone living inside or close to the beltway and DC. In the past McLean was the closest ECNL club and would draw from DC, Arlington, Alexandria, Springfield, lower Montgomery county, etc. Arlington did not have a patch. They would lose their own players to McLean. DC, Alexanderia, etc. players would not tryout. I have seen players from PG and Montgomery countries at Arlington practices. McLean coaches call Stoddert McLean east. Stoddert u14 boys just won Jeff cup.

You either never go to or never leave Arlington, or are recruiting for Arlington, or both. Arlington is awful for everybody outside Arlington. Try going to long bridge from anywhere in northern Virginia when traffic returns to normal. It is much easier to travel along the other loop than navigate all the off roads or 395 during traffic. McLean might indeed be a much easier trip for dc people in northwest. What is all the babbling about stoddert? They won the Jeff cup? The ninth division? This makes them “McLean east” because McLean is just as lame on the boys side? Please. PPA, Achilles, Paragon are eating their lunch and dinner.

Your are clueless.

You are right, if clued in means ever hearing people refer to Stoddert as McLean East, or monitoring the results in division 9 of a soccer tournament (or 8, or 7, or 6, etc) or misspelling Alexandria. Happily clueless.

Let’s see what Arlington GA and the other area teams do this weekend at Jeff Cup. I’m not talking about the division 6 or lower teams but the ones that are 1-4. VDA should perform very well, I think we/Arlington based on ASIST will struggle unless Mo switches things up as it didn’t work at all this past weekend (team looked slow and very predictable), Loudoun will struggle, BRYC and McLean potentially even greater struggling. MDU may make the finals of div 2!

I see a lot of struggle ahead 😂😂😂

Where to drive to is key. Arlington works for Arlington but it also works for large parts of DC. No traffic to Longbridge from DC before COVID. But it depends where in DC. Alexandria works for Arlington both the City and the Fairfax County portion. There are other places as well where it works well. It will be the closest ECNL to a lot of people.

When life returns to normal - the drive to Arlington is a nightmare!! 66, 267, 295 and 395. Also, if they continue to be ok and never actually doing anything of note e.g. getting out of a group to the semis or make a final they’ll not be a destination. They’ll just be another mid-level ECNL team at best.

Right now the destination clubs seem to be:

MDU - performance (DC, Alexandria, Rt1 and Arlington) #1 in MD
VDA - performance (NOVA) very good coach but you’ll need to pay him for extra coaching to stay as a starter
McLean - development legendary coach that’s helped more girls go D1 than anyone else in the DMV
Out west/WV - Loudoun soccer typically for development, a new coach is incoming! She will bring in new recruits and she’s a proven winner/developer in the DMV. A change is needed there, badly from what I’ve heard.

I don’t see players jumping ship to play for Mo... What I know about him isn’t anything to write home about and look at this thread... The families seem ecstatic to be there lol. We also had an Arlington GA player at our session this week 👀 I won’t be a douche and name the kid, family are clearly trying to escape Mo’s antics...

I'm interested in this new coach coming to Loudoun. From the outside? There is need for some good female coaches, but thus far the ones at Loudoun haven't exactly been role models....

Who is the new coach and what age groups will she have?

Not a girl parent and not associated with Loudoun, but a quick visit to their website will grant you the answer:

Thanks for posting. FCV may get ECNL faster than we thought with that staff.

How do you think he should switch things up? Play the bad players instead of the good ones?

So the answer is -- no new woman coach. Just Rae Anne having two young age groups to intimidate.
