Mi Burn
Mi Rangers
DCFC

Currently either DPL or usys

Add Detroit City FC boys and girls to RL
Nationals SC Capital Area to RL

Holy crap these are terrible adds.

Detroit City is DCFC, which has a USL men's team that's been rising (and even on local TV here in MI). All these clubs are decently run and have teams from time-to-time that do well in USYS (FWIW).

Also another Nationals affiliate in MI, Union, announced today. If anything this will hurt the competitiveness of USYS here.

Folks, there is a bigger picture playing here. A bigger battle per se.

That battle is Adidas versus Nike.
Girls Academy and MLS next is sponsored by Adidas while ECNL is all in on Nike.

This isn’t a league vs league issue. This is Adidas and MLS coming for youth soccer.

What are you on about? If the leagues are sponsored by these companies, why are the teams not required to wear kits made by them?

Is this a turning point in youth soccer, like when the DA folded? Are clubs flipping from ECNL to GA? Is the “partnership” with MLSN making this happen?

Nobody will bet with you because an ECNL hat isn't the the prize you think it is.

Now this is the big picture I’m talking about here. I noticed that as well, glad you posted about it.

They would get dominated if that were to happen. If the top teams are not competitive in ECNL, it’ll be worse in MLS next. They need to move their current ECNL Academy teams to MLSN 2 and the NL/RL teams to something lower like NCYSA.

Dream on, their Academy team is competitive in every age group. Losing the National team will give two decent, if midtable perhaps MLSN2 teams.

No idea on the girls side.

I think the word you're looking for is "watered down".

Isn't that what all the ECNL people used to say?

Sorry to be the one to relay but leagues make $$$ from the number of clubs they can get under their umbrella. Exclusively and success create interest but they don't pay the bills unless leagues capitalize by letting more clubs join.

Call it what you want to, but every move ECNL has been a desperation move.

You never know ECNL might be able to pull a rabbit out of it hat. But I agree the moves (so far) this year seem desperate especially when compared to previous years.

The MLSN hook with GA as a by product is very appealing to clubs. Ironic because ECNL used to do the same thing with girls ECNL forcing clubs to do boys ECNL.

If ECNL was smart, they would pull Tophat and STA while they can.

This might be their last chance to do so.

The rest of the top programs in GA are MLSN

My prediction is that when the champions cup is over, STA will announce ECNL. Should be Wednesday or Thursday. Then GA will announce 2 new NJ GA teams

Only good STA team is 2008s. Will be mediocre in ECNL

Competitive in the oldest two age groups, but those boys will be aged out soon. Those teams have been more established and not been poached by the shiny new toy that was Fox.🦊 take a look at their 2 youngest age groups, to 2011s and 2012s. The future of the program and a key look at what it will be a few years down the road. Bottom of the table, basically. Those poor boys would lose 95% of their games in MLS Next.

You sure about that? Match fit may have something to say about that

STA posted for GA tryouts already…

The club I would think is gone is Lou Fusz…the GA hasn’t really posted them on social media during champions cup…one big tell is on the first champions cup post, all the major clubs were tagged. Not LFA
