Evans was allowed to vote on whether he should lose his committee post because of his multiple corruption investigations. He should have resigned long ago, but doesn’t have the character. But in the meantime, he continues, while his constituents attempt to remove him via recall vote.

What.

Some years ago when Evans was an NCRC parent, he asked DDOT to look at eminent domain in order to widen Highland Place in Cleveland Park (not in Evans’ ward BTW). The residential street’s modest width slowed the drop-off and pickup at NCRC. Evens wanted the District to seize private property for his own driving convenience.

Didn’t Bowser promise “Jelleff for all”?

She did promise Deal for all.

One of the draws of Deal is that it has a large combination soccer/baseball/softball field that can be used for PE, recess and after-school sports.

True. Hardy has been a draw for those around the city whose “home” middle schools suck. For Ward 3 families used to Deal (like John Eaton ES), however, they literally had to be forced to Hardy.

"Jelleff for all" sounds like some processed food product in DCPS school lunches.

Councilmember Robert White said this in his opening statement at the recent hearing on the Maret exclusivity agreement: “I cannot make sense of entering into this agreement without public input, and in a time where this city is well-able to afford to make necessary improvements to this field.”

Does anybody have any updates, other than Bowser saying she supports this deal? Is there a plan on how to proceed?

I'm going to piggyback on this. What can the Council do? Can the Council unilaterally rescind the deal?

If so, let's try to game this out:

Definitely oppose Maret deal: Silverman, Cheh, Robert White
Lean oppose: Trayvon White, Gray
Unknown views: Mendelsohn, Bonds, Grosso, Nadeau, McDuffie, Allen,
Lean support: Todd (he is Bowser's lackey)
Definitely support Maret deal: Evans

I think the Council would have momentum to take action on this deal. It would be quicker than going through the courts.

Like a combination of Jello and Jif. With saturated fat added. Yummy DCPS food.

Deep fried Jelleff is on the lunch menu next Wed.

I think Bowser killed momentum on Kojo. Only so many fights the council is willing to pick. Maret — this is the last public good you’ll get from DC taxpayers. Everyone is watching you now. Start your fundraising if you need more stuff.

Bowser’s kid has a guaranteed scholarship spot at Maret. The rowing coach vouches for the family.
