It’s like being born a female and liking pink and expressing femininity is something bad. Like it needs to be purged and erased. Don’t do his to me. Don’t do this to the billions of women who think this way around the world. Women are still inunde el p,aging fields here. Heck we still don’t even have paid maternity leave in the freaking United States! Unlike some other countries. We get no propriety in society at all.
I accept you, trans or whatever you are. I love you. I admire you. I see you. But you must show the same regard to me. And also listen to the points here about how totally unfair it is to compete in our space, when we have struggle for so long to carve out our space, and gain some sense of traction in society. |
| Also the constant “TERF”-is uber misogynistic. Akin to fundamentalist-speaking calling all feminists radical or libbers. Yuck! |
The term TERF is a slur against women. https://terfisaslur.com/ |
Omg. What should we call women who claim they are feminists but don’t count trans women as women then? |
How can you think trans women DON’T see and feel those same struggles as we do? Do you think they didn’t face struggles of their own growing up in an body they felt wasn’t theirs? That they didn’t face discrimination for who they are? Amazing you think YOUR womanhood is threatened or discounted by theirs. |
DP. Yes, I think they definitely face their own struggles and a unique type of discrimination. They deserve their own representation without being lumped in together with cis women. Trans men deserve their own representation because their struggles and experiences are unique to trans men. Cis women have their own struggles and unique experiences, too, and we deserve to control the conversation about our own experiences and bodies without being threatened with misogynistic slurs and abuse. |
Omg. What should we call women who claim they hold the purity test to determine who is a feminist or not then? Can you both believe that trans women are women whose experiences are not the same as women who were born and socialized as women? Can you be a feminist if you do not believe there are 83 genders? Let me know quick so we can pass your “expert” test and get our jr. feminist merit badge, millennial slacktavist. |
You should call them “the majority” 😆 |
You act like I personally coined the term. But your boomer feminism falls right in line with it, I’m not sure why you find it offensive. |
| This is the stupidest thread I’ve ever read, and if Democrats think they’re going to win elections by shaming fellow Dems over trans rights, they’re wrong. Stick to economics people. |
DP. Did you click on the link? It incites violence and threats against cisgender women. |
Women. See how how simple that is? |
Millennial slacktavist, you would be perpetually knocked up and unable to have a credit card or own a home without those evil boomer feminists you loathe so much. But nope, not nearly old enough to be a boomer (your poor mother, gotta feel for her). But clearly too smart and politically engaged to be your peer. |
TERF is a slur. I was completely against JK Rowling. Then I saw the article about Canada’s oldest rape crisis center being attacked and defunded because it wanted to provide rape victims with a female-only safe space to recover from male violence. I am fully supportive of trans women’s civil rights. However, the moment you start using your political power to shut down places of refuge for battered and raped women is the moment I no longer want to be part of your movement. As a domestic violence survivor, that’s what JK Rowling was worried about and that is what’s happening. |
Millennial ACTIVIST and feminist here that thinks women should not have to dilute their experience and consequently their activism by eliminating specificity of language |
