Then I saw the article about Canada’s oldest rape crisis center being attacked and defunded because it wanted to provide rape victims with a female-only safe space to recover from male violence. I am fully supportive of trans women’s civil rights. However, the moment you start using your political power to shut down places of refuge for battered and raped women is the moment I no longer want to be part of your movement. As a domestic violence survivor, that’s what JK Rowling was worried about and that is what’s happening. [/quote]
