Maybe someone else will but I won’t. I’m appalled that the Times made this decision in the face of death threats by the President.

You have got to be kidding. Death threats? My God you people really do know how to be hyperbolic.

You are part of the problem when you don't see anything wrong with the president comparing the whistleblower and his sources to spies and then alluding to spies being executed for treason. It doesn't even matter if it's a joke, which I'm sure you and all his excuse-makers will declare, it's completely inappropriate.

Read his damn words.
He was talking about the leakers. That is clear.

I get so tired of the liberals here making statements that are blatantly false and stating them as if they are fact. You all claim to be so intelligent and worldly, yet you cannot even get facts straight. This shows a lack of intelligence.
Or, you are so full of hate that you INTENTIONALLY spread false information. It is one or the other.

What leakers? Where was the leak? This all happened in the regular course of business at the White House. Right under their noses out in the open. That's what whistleblowing is -- a report from the inside gathered in the course of one's job. That's why it's called a whistleblower. The information gathered by the whistleblower was not from leaks, it was from that person doing his/her job with people also doing their jobs. Trump calling government employees doing their jobs "spies" who should be offed in the old fashioned way is chilling.

Let me explain to you.....

Somebody who had listened to the call or had access to the call passed the content of the call to someone who WAS NOT part of the IC. That person is the whistleblower. That person got the information third hand. The person who passed the information is leaking. It is as simple as that.
If the person listening to the call or reading the transcript had issues.... THAT person should have filed a complaint. Not passed it on to a third party.

That is not true. From the actual complaint ...

In the course of my official duties, I have received information from multiple U.S. Government officials that the President of the United States is using the power of his office to
solicit interference from a foreign country in the 2020 U.S. election.

...The information provided herein was relayed to me in the course of official interagency business. It is routine for U.S. officials with responsibility for a particular regional or functional portfolio to share such information with one another in order to inform policymaking and analysis.

Not buying that explanation. He/She is covering his/her ass.

Oh for crying out loud.

A phone call to a foreign leader is ordinary business. Or at least it usually is.

It's not the whistleblower's fault that Trump is a criminal. That's only Trump's fault.

Moving the goal posts I see.

Somebody leaked. And, that person should be found and charged.

And, Trump has done nothing CRIMINAL. That is your take because that is what your side is feeding you.

What is "feeding me" is the whistleblower report. I think you've read it and didn't like it and that's why you're feigning ignorance of it.

I read the whole thing.
And, remember this is hearsay. That way, the whistleblower can claim that is what he was told - even if what he wrote wasn't true. Convenient.
And, I suspect that is why the person passing the information got someone else to fill the role of whistleblower.

The whistleblower is an intelligence analyst, someone whose job it is to be precise and to verify information. You are projecting again, but intelligence analysts do not make shit up the way the Trump people do.

+1. Leaking is literally the opposite of whistleblowing. Whistleblowing is proper, and this report was deemed proper by not one but two Trump appointees, one of whom testified for hours about it TODAY.

Now. Ask yourself how you know this. It is supposed to be kept private, but someone leaked it.

My guess is that it was Schiff.

This is basically Watergate all over again.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/09/26/biggest-bombshells-in-trump-whistleblower-complaint-cover-up.html

  • White House officials were “deeply disturbed” by a July 25 phone call Trump had with Zelensky. There were discussions “with White House lawyers because of the likelihood,” in the minds of officials, “that they had witnessed the President abuse his office for personal gain.”

  • Senior White House officials intervened to “lock down” records of the call with Zelensky, which “underscored to me that White House officials understood the gravity of what had transpired in the call.”

  • White House lawyers directed White House officials to remove the electronic transcript of the Zelensky call from the computer system where such transcripts normally are stored. That transcript then was loaded into a “separate electronic system” that is otherwise used to store and handle classified information of an especially sensitive nature. “One White House official described this act as an abuse of this electronic system because the call did not contain anything remotely sensitive from a national security perspective.”

Is this going to be Valerie Plame all over again? I left the R party after what they did to her, and I will never go back now.

Are you kidding? Trump has everything to lose for this person to testify. And he has put a semi-veiled threat out, while others on the right have put actual threats out, including a bounty.

Schiff wouldn't know the identity yet. The only ones who know are the IG, the DNI and Barr.

The person that leaked the information does not have whistleblower protection.

If someone has leaked that the President is doing impeachable things, what's really important here is that we investigate the President, not protect him...

    ...riiight?

We can punish the leaker at our leisure thereafter. Or congratulate him on catching something impeachable, but also train him on the due process of whistle-blowing. Or whatever. But the POINT IS THAT WE CATCH IMPEACHABLE OFFENSES TO ENSURE THEY DO NOT RE-OCCUR.

If this was a Democratic President, some of you posters would have no problem understanding this

There is NOTHING impeachable here. That doesn't mean the Dems won't try.

You're nuts. Trump clearly made a death threat against the whistleblower. Have you read his damn words?

    - DP

    He. did. not.

    Please explain what this means:
“You know what we used to do in the old days when we were smart with spies and treason, right?” he added. “We used to handle it a little differently than we do now.”

Tell us, what did they used to do in the "old days" with "spies and treason" that we aren't doing today?

This is the kind of $hit I am talking about. You INTENTIONALLY left of the first sentence....

“I want to know who’s the person who gave the whistle-blower the information because that’s close to a spy,”

    And, he's right.

You say spy, I say patriot.

    Edward Snowden fan, I see.

None of this means a thing, you know that right? Someone said something who said something and it's routine to share it. That's about as slippery as it gets.
