Was this the same staffer that the whistleblower contacted? We need to know.
And, we need to know the purpose for the trip.

If nothing wrong was done, why was the "transcript" of the call placed into the super-secret NSC server? If nothing was done wrong, why is everyone lying about it now?

There was no quid pro quo. Zelensky and the Ukrainians did not know about the withheld funds until a month after the phone call. Period.

Quit moving the goal posts. Trump was using public funds to shake down Ukraine to have them meddle in our election on his behalf. That's enough. He's unfit for office.

From reports I have read, all phone transcripts were placed in the same server because of leaks that came out repeatedly of phone calls between Trump and other country's leaders.
And, I can't blame them.

DP. This is not true. How can he be using public funds to "shake down" Ukraine when the other party isn't even aware of the "shake down?"
Your reasoning makes no sense.

That is not moving the goal posts. It is a direct rebuttal applicable to your second sentence above. Maybe you should quit moving goal posts...what happened to Russian collusion, etc. etc. etc. etc.?

Exactly. “The Trump administration initially told Congress it was releasing the aid to Ukraine on February 28. It repeated that assertion to Congress again on May 23, but failed to explain to lawmakers but struggled to explain — both publicly and to the lawmakers who approved the aid — exactly why the funds were withheld.

Even Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell couldn’t get a straight answer from Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defense Secretary Mark Esper over the summer on why the aid hadn’t been dispersed yet.”

They were expecting the funds. That means they were aware that they hadn't received them.

Do you think $250m is peanuts to them? Apparently you think they are total idiots.

You are missing the point. They obviously knew they had not received the funds. However, they did not know that the funds had been withheld. They didn't even know why, as stated in the article. If this was quid pro quo, they would have known why.

Fact: Russians tried to interfere in the 2016 election. This should disturb you.
Fact: Members of the Trump campaign met with Russians looking for dirt on HRC. Just because what they did is not classified as "illegal" does not make it ethical or okay. It should disturb you.
Fact: Our current POTUS tried to pressure the Ukranians to dig up dirt on his behalf against a political rival. This should disturb you.

The reality is that this POTUS keeps doing things that are wrong. Things can be wrong even whether or not they are illegal.

I am tired of rationalizing by Trump supporters. It has risen to a level of ridiculousness that is unfathomable.

So you support the illegal classification of certain calls by the White House. That is lovely.

There was no rationalization in my post. Rationalization is justification. He was accused of quid pro quo. I was quoting an article that rebuts that accusation.

What you underline is not true. the funds were supposed to be released in February and then in May. By June 25th, they still hadn't been released despite public authirization of release and public statements of release. They knew they didn't have the funds but they didn't know why. Trump and Rudy made it clear why. Once this news broke, poof, the funds were released. It was like magic.

DP, but the actual timeline, public statements and actions refute what you are trying to assert.

In the meantime, the United States has now lost Ukraine as a bulwark against Russian aggression. Why does this not worry or disturb you?
