I’d like to think they’re just trolls, but unfortunately there are truly people who think that if you/your parents committed a misdemeanor trying to seek asylum and a safer, better life, then you deserve to be treated like sh1t. |
We can multi-task, but stick to the subject. |
Soulless. I'll take your criticism and raise you one: law-abiding. |
|
You are the very definition of imaginative social constructs: how myths sustain empires.
|
So, you think that people should abide by the law? All people? All laws? Even those that would be considered misdemeanors? |
Really? You’ve never even crossed against the light? Because in some jurisdictions that’s also a misdemeanor, and you therefore deserve to be locked in a cold cage without care or hygiene products for weeks. Tough but fair I guess. |
| Oh, and this is assuming all those families actually crossed illegally. Presenting yourself at the border and requesting asylum is not a crime. It’s how you’re supposed to do it. |
laws, like the consent order mandating that CPB provide safe & sanitary conditions? agreed. |
This is a sad, desperate comparison. Entering a country illegally and jaywalking. Yeah, sure, totally comparable.
|
Except the caregivers are giving the best care they can with the resources they have. You got a problem with that? Go to a mission in South Texas right now and I promise your help will be welcomed with open arms. But, nah, you are just gonna complain how the taxes I am paying (I get the impression you don't pay much if any) to the people who aren't trained child care givers or certified bed and breakfast operators aren't good enough for the humanitarian crisis at the border. No one is listening to your concerns because you are pissed when the sun rises. You'd complain that a paramedic couldn't perform open heart surgery. |
|
The whole point of the thread is lost: no toothbrushes or soap for one night in a temporary holding facility.
*yawn* |
That's .... not how the constitution or the court order work. |
we have to separate them, a good number of kids being brought here are fraudulent and not with their parents https://twitter.com/USBPChief/status/1130182676437241856 Why do democrats condone kidnapping and fraud? |
I am saying international law allows for borders and for borders to be protected. Now, you don't want borders "on rock floating in infinite space." Fine. Go back to the natural laws of the hunters and gatherers. Our forebearers in the pre-agricultural society just left those who couldn't keep up behind. You want to go back to that? I hope you aren't funny looking because that was one reason to get knocked off. You wanna get all "floating rock without borders?" You are welcome to find a society who doesn't believe in such silly things. This ain't it. |
International law requires that detained children be treated humanely. I don't think you're on the right path with that argument, buddy ... |
