Won’t help if you are not admitting the right kids and only going after prestige. |
The right kid being yours? |
No, mine are better suited elsewhere. I am here for the shitshow this school has become....good luck to the kids! |
And precisely parents like you are why I wouldn’t send my kids there. You have made my point. |
Anonymous forum and you assume a Sidwell parent. Bravo. |
Would be great if Garman would have a AMA meeting with parents. |

In addition to meeting current junior families.... I think he should be setting expectations on behavior and culture as families enter the Upper School. And that messaging should be repeated annually. |

Wow, that is crazy low salary. |
Interesting so many people obsessed with what is going on at schools like Sidwell, GDS, STA that they have ABSOLUTELY zero connection to? I smell, what is that, the sting of rejection? Get. A. Life. |
Its for a junior position, someone who is 5-12 years out of college who likely worked in their undergrad admissions office right after they graduated and then one or two more rotations through other institutions. |
They will never be able to hold on to people whose job is to absorb so much stress and take so much abuse from parents, all for $45k - $58k. Any reasonable person would balk at being tasked with fulfilling the impossible college dreams of people who make 10x as much as you. They’re asking for a twenty-something with a few years experience to manage a caseload of middle aged corporate lawyers. |
Especially then it is low. The person they seek to hire would be in their 30ies, likely supporting a family, with this job as their full time gig. That person is expected to be a bridge between the political elite of our nation and its top unoversities? |
