Maybe they knew each other (I have no idea), but are they friends as you initially claimed? Do they have an actual personal relationship?[/quote]  Well, I've googled and can't' find evidence of a friendship or even an association. The most I found was that Obama used R. Kelly's song "I believe" for his 2008 inauguration.  PP, please link us to what you are talking about.[/quote]

It was rewritten as a tribute for Obama by R. Kelly from another artist, Osmosis Jones. But I don't know that Obama ever used it for any events. There were lots of artists who did similar. I can imagine that R. Kelly wanted to because of Obama, for obvious reasons. But it doesn't serve as evidence of their apparently non-existent friendship.[/quote]
