Love all the posters assuming that rear view cameras see all and solve all problems. Mine is a huge help but doesn't have a view where it could let me see someone approaching from the side behind me. I can see behind me, yes, but don't have much "peripheral vision" to the sides on that screen. The camera does help but it's not perfect and I think a lot of drivers actually are sloppier and more careless about backing once they're used to the cameras and assume the cameras will save them from missing a person or vehicle that suddenly steps or drives behind them. |
You short though, I know. |
| At this point in the thread, anyone still taking this argument seriously is an idiot. Just do what you want to do. Who cares either way. |
Agree with this. You back-in parkers need to realize that this is a newer idea. For most of the time people have been driving automobiles, it has not been typical to back into parking spaces. If you are going to do this, you need to signal. |
Sorry, 6'2". Try again! |
pp - I have a rear camera that includes good peripheral vision and beeps like crazy if anything moves on the camera, including a freaking paper bag about 20 feet away, so actually I feel very safe backing out. Pulling through- an illegal, unexpected maneuver- is just ridiculous. What if the person who had the right of way wasn't going slow enough to stop in time? What if the person darts out from behind her car into that spot to put her kid in the car because THE SPOT IS EMPTY and you don't see her until it's too late? I'm just saying, follow the law which is there for a reason. |
So funny! |
Sometimes you have to park off-center because you’ve pulled in between two cars that have parked off-center. |
Uh huh. |
Really don't care about your annoyance. Why should I? It is better to be safe. I'm watching out for YOU. And again for the cheap seats: *AAA recommends that drivers reverse into parking spaces whenever possible, except where prohibited by law or parking lot restrictions. When faced with angled parking, drivers should follow the flow of traffic and pull forward into the parking space. https://newsroom.aaa.com/2015/12/majority-of-american-drivers-on-naughty-list/ https://auto.howstuffworks.com/car-driving-safety/accidents-hazardous-conditions/backed-in-car-parking-lot-space.htm https://safestart.com/news/4-reasons-backing-parking-spaces-safer/ https://www.geotab.com/blog/reverse-parking/ https://driving-tests.org/beginner-drivers/how-to-back-into-a-parking-space/ |
+1 Plus, you one big PITA. We could not hang out, sorry. |
well this is a really asinine thing to complain about. You are waiting for the car to back up either going into the space or going out. The process of backing in is actually faster than backing out so what is it that you are really complaining about. It is also much safer for pedestrians and cars to back into the space. And when parking a van or SUV, you create more visibility for the adjacent car in a backed in position. You are crying about the wrong thing, baby! |
OMG, you are funny and an idiot ! LOL!!! |
|
You people are freakin' dumb.
Who knew people got that impatient for people backing into a parking spot? Now that I know that it pisses you prtentious dbags off in MoCo, I'll be sure to back into my parking spot 100% of the time from now on. |
Thanks for proving our (PPs) point. |
