You are waiting for the car to back up either going into the space or going out. The process of backing in is actually faster than backing out so what is it that you are really complaining about. It is also much safer for pedestrians and cars to back into the space. And when parking a van or SUV, you create more visibility for the adjacent car in a backed in position.
