It shows you really have nothing. No viable arguments against this nominee.

If you don’t see a problem with JUDGES who have this amount of DEBT I can’t effing help you. That level of debt wouldn’t get him a basic security clearance.

It’s normal to like baseball. It’s normal to have credit card debt. It is not normal to have $200,000 in credit card debt that you attribute to baseball tickets. Most of us buy $50 seats and don’t take out a Thrift loan.

If you can’t tell the difference, I can’t help you.

I can tell you this. He could not get a federal security clearance with that kind of debt. And there is a good reason. Think about it. It will come to you...

how does someone from his background (he didn't grow up poor - he grew up very comfortably), his cv, being biglaw partner for a few years rack up that much debt?

i don't get the math behind his finances given his profile.

This guy didn't grow up poor. But his parents haven't kicked the bucket, so I guess he hasn't gotten the inheritance that enables the typical DC mid-life housing, Tesla sedan, exotic holiday and education upgrades.

Let’s point out a few snippets from the WaPo article that you, and others here, have conveniently overlooked......

Shah said the payments for the tickets were made at the end of 2016 and paid off early the next year.

“He did not carry that kind of debt year over year,” Shah said.

“At this time the Kavanaughs have no debt beyond their home mortgage,” Shah said.

He said that Kavanaugh has assets of nearly $1 million between the equity in his home and his retirement account.

Ah, your argument is he was just doing it for the Amex points! Riiiight.

I have a feeling we just saw the first article in a series by the WaPo. And we are about to see the summer of the centepede dropping 1000 shoes. He’s been short listed for SCOTUS before. Someone has already done s the due diligence. And sadly, that someone is not the slipshod ethically challenged Trump White House.

No non-insane person carries $200,000 in credit card debt to support a baseball habit. And pays it off suddenly in any legit way, while living in DC on 280k a year in salary and a huge mortgage plus private school costs.

This is about to get good. And McConnell deserves all the sh*t abortion it to hit the fan. String Kavanaugh along until after the August recess, and then there is no time for a second bite at the Apple until after the midterms.

merrick Garland. Unassailable.

Merrick Garland. Private Citizen.

Merrick Garland is actually the Chief Judge in the same circuit where Kavanaugh serves but I guess it would be way too much to expect you to know something.

Which is another way of saying "not a Supreme Court Justice".
Hahahaha

Going from 200k in debt to zero debt over a short period of time does not help his case.

No, this is a major red flag. We have an HHI close to a third of them and are younger than them. Our combined assets is easily a factor of 10. Nobody randomly pays off $200K of debt, because we are wise enough to live within our means.

So all that debt was mysteriously paid off “early the next year,” which happens to the year he started appearing on the Federalist Society’s and Heritage Foundation’s list of possible SCOTUS picks? The credit cards? The personal loan? The TSP loan?

A Judge who is only making $280k a year in DC?

He must be an idiot if that's all he can get. No one trumpf picked him. He's as dumb as him.

Too bad judges aren’t required to gain security clearance. Because he wouldn’t be able to get one with those red flags on his credit history and suddenly pay off. He would be seen as too amenable to outside influences (bribery.)

$60K of that is his wife’s salary for managing a neighborhood comprised of roughly six blocks and around 600 people.
