Agree. Gerrymandering should end period! |
Exactly! Democrats use gerrymandering as the excuse for their failures in elections. Yes, there is gerrymandering - on both sides - though to hear Democrats talk about it, they attribute their abysmal performance in elections to gerrymandering and when that will not work as in the case of governors and senators they throw in voter suppression. And, of course, Russia and racism for good measure. No great surprise - it is just the constant whining and you see that all over this forum. What they just can't get through their thick heads is that they have lost touch with much of the country and until they find a way to recognize the needs and aspirations of the broad electorate, they will keep losing ....... and they will keep ranting about gerrymandering and voter suppression. |
Finanaces are going to be an issue for Kavanaugh. |
I am sure the Clintons will just love having this graphic information now being released to the general public as part of the Kavanaugh hearings. I feel sorry for Chelsea who has to be exposed to this sort of information about her father:
https://www.archives.gov/files/research/kavanaugh/releases/kavanaugh8.15.98.pdf And at the end of it all, Kavanaugh will be confirmed. |
Sen Hirono agrees that Trump shouldn’t be picking the person who would be able to let Trump off the hook.

If this were true, then Rs and Ds would have no problems redrawing maps and ending gerrymandering. For some unfathomable reason, that's not the case. /s |
What a shocker that a Dem is against a Trump nominee. Absolutely shocked, I tell you. |
Oh, STFU with that lie. Gerrymandering is far and away for the benefit of the Republicans who do it. Get rid of all the gerrymandering. It’s unfair. It denies representation. But quit playing like it’s used by both sides. It isn’t. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2014/05/15/americas-most-gerrymandered-congressional-districts/?utm_term=.74aaa0a6df1b Check out North Carolina for particularly egregious offenses. And all this means? The Repos are pretending they have a mandate that they don’t have. |
I love it when Republicans point to Maryland to excuse gerrymandering, as if for every Maryland there aren't 5 states where gerrymandering benefits the GOP. |
Maryland has pretty egregious gerrymandering, fwiw, but it is the one blue state in a sea of red examples.
It should be ended across the board. |
If Kavanaugh were smart, he would withdraw from current consideration. He has major financial liabilities and with the Trump-Crime cloud, it is entirely possible he won't get the votes and worse, he could lose his current seat if his lies from the W administration and his financial issues are exposed. |
Reminds me of Dr. Ronny Jackson. ETTD. |
Ha ha ha. Nice try. |
The sheer desperation of Democrats is evident with the calls to delay his confirmation hearing because of yesterday's events. They are flailing around making an effort to do something but it is just for show.
We even have Sen Hirono canceling her meeting with Kavanaugh as if there was even a chance she would have voted for him. http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/403009-dem-senators-kavanaugh-hearing-should-be-postponed-following-cohen-plea |
Give it up, Democrats - you are not going to be able to derail Kavanaugh's nomination. When Bill Clinton's personal lawyer and an eminent person in the legal profession, Bill Bennett, offers a full throated endorsement of Kavanaugh, it should give one pause.
Here is what Bennett said about Kavanaugh: "Brett is the most qualified person any Republican President could possibly have nominated," Bennett wrote in his letter, which does not contain Trump's name or any direct reference to him. "Were the Senate to fail to confirm Brett, it would not only mean passing up the opportunity to confirm a great jurist, but it would also undermine civility in politics twice over: first in playing politics with such an obviously qualified nominee, and then again in losing the opportunity to put such a strong advocate for decency and civility on our Nation’s highest court." https://www.politico.com/blogs/under-the-radar/2018/08/29/clinton-lawyer-bob-bennett-endorses-brett-kavanaugh-801343 Of course, we will see Democrats on the House Judiciary committee pontificating ad nauseum for the cameras about Kavanaugh's alleged flaws although they know full well that he is eminently qualified. Is he conservative? Absolutely ....... but Trump made it clear that he was going to appoint conservative judges during the campaign so it is not as if he said one thing and then did something else. |
