Don’t eat. Fast all day. Decline lunch with friends and family. |
I would say I'm 'UMC' by DCUM standards, not rich-rich, although I am thin. Similarly to some PPs I eat whatever I want, I just only have a nibble of it. If I want ice cream, I have a single spoon. If I want spaghetti I make it for the family and have a tiny portion, etc.
I barely eat until dinner, and when I do it is <400 calories, so something like a few egg whites and vegetables, low fat cottage cheese, fat free greek yogurt, or a sugar free chia pudding with berries, veggies and hummus, a protein bar. For dinner I eat whatever my husband and children want, pasta and carbs included, but that makes up about 1/3 of my plate and the rest is steamed vegetables or salad with light dressing, and maybe extra protein. And I use salad-size plates, not dinner plates. I exercise every single day for 45+ minutes, and do a long run of 90+ minutes once a week. No alcohol, lots of water, lots of black coffee. |
Forget being a hot mom; I want to be an oligarch wife!! |
NP. Yep, like this one https://instagram.com/lizalizonka?igshid=1hunrbvk0czef What strikes me is that everyone in the comments oohing and aahing what a great figure she has. Rare commenters who gently suggest she has an ED get bashed fiercely. I admit I check on her every once in a while to see if she is still pay... |
PP here - 'okay', not 'pay'. |
You don't have to be rich to be thin, you just have to eat less.
The cross over between rich and thin is self-control, determination, and motivation. These women know that certain actions equal certain outcomes, and they are willing to be uncomfortable (hungry all the time) to make that outcome a reality because it's important to how they perceive themselves and how the world perceives them. |
100% agree. |
I think it also depends on what size your body naturally wants to be at if that makes sense. I’m naturally around size 6 and can stay there and eat fairly healthy and not be hungry. I’ve been a 4 and was always hungry, thinking about food choices etc and exercising a lot more. At this stage in my life I’m happy as a six. I still look pretty good in a swim suit but am so much happier. |
I have money and I’m overweight and it makes me sad. I love food and I have a thyroid issue so losing weight is hard. At the end of the day though I’d rather feel free to go out to a fancy $$ restaurant and actually eat... |
I know this really kills people, but some people are naturally thin and not starving all the time. Life is not fair.
But also, rich people have money and time to make healthier life choices. Easier access to high quality and healthy food, time to exercise. And finally, it's the peer group. If it's normed to be thin, you're more likely to have some motivation to stay thin. Even your social opportunities surrounding food will be normed to have options to make healthy choices to stay thin. Your friends might socialize through exercise. It just becomes part of the lifestyle. |
+1 |
That's a great figure? She looks like a scrawny child got breast augmentation. Shudder. |
+1 to the first sentence. Just as with parenting outcomes, genetics plays a big role. I'm not particularly rich, have never thought of dieting or cutting out carbs/ sugar, binge on my kids snacks from time to time, don't exercise often (maybe a neighborhood run once a week) but at 5'4 I've always been a size XS or 00. My sisters are like me too. |
So I am UMC; grew up UMC. Live in a UMC/UC neighborhood. Belong to Country Club that is more UMC than even usual. Kids are in privates that are mostly UMC/UC.
I dislike the sameness of these women. Not sure what they are doing but when I see one I do not want to interact with her. |
They are the minority, and by naturally thin, what that actually means is naturally have a small appetite and a very low threshold for feeling full and satisfied. Everyone else that is thin has to make a conscious choice to eat less and not eat exactly what they want. |
