DC Public and Public Charter Schools
If he really stays, I’ve seriously made a wrong turn in my career- he gets to flout the rules he made and keep his $300k+ compensation package. |
It wouldn't be so bad if her didn't write the policy and is pushing a platform of "Equity and Access" how can anyone take him seriously now? Plus his vow to investigate cheating by teachers, sigh
|
I guess he learned his lesson? But how do we as parents trust his ability to lead the school system? |
| Just like residency cheaters and the like, the rules don't apply to him. He's entitled to get special privileges for his children. |
Is that a slap or a reality check? How many people in the DCPS front office that are managers actually live in DC? Do think they're stupid? They're laughing at you! |
I agree, I feel despondent about the system and don't trust him now. I do fully understand the situation he was in, I will be in it in a few years, and many people I know have been in his situation. His role required him to rise above the opportunity to take the easy way out, and he failed. |
Agreed. |
Guess he forgot to check his privilege! |
| I agree with PPs. I really wanted him to succeed, but he has to go. What an idiot!! Agree with a PP, he could’ve rented in Shepherd Park or CV with Muriel and not look quite like a sell out and still save face and had IB access to Shepherd, Deal, and Wilson for what maybe $500 more in rent a month than a Brookland? |
There are plenty of posts on these boards about how to legally get around the system, that this is so dumb maybe he wanted to get fired! |
I agree. He only has the Mayor's confidence. That is not enough. Reasonable to wait till the facts come out, but if this were a defendable position the Deputy Mayor for Ed would not have fallen on her sword. He has poor judgement. |
| And I doubt he has the Mayor’s conference. She doesn’t want to have to admit that she made a bad choice. Her decision making is in question. |
| So if the options are dumb or a cheat, which option is OK for continued employment as chancellor? |
It's the old "Do as I say, not as I do." |
| They won’t take him out mid year. It’s so critical to have someone in that role as school year not over anytime soon yet. |
