He may be the pawn in the parents scheme to make a big payday with a quick settlement from the zoo. "Mommy loves you"? Hell, I would have been doing my damnest to get in that moat to rescue him. At no time have the parents expressed any regret for the death of the gorilla or apologized. Time will tell if they sue and I'm sure atbleadt 5,000 lawyer (nationwide) have contacted them. |
Per the moms own FB he had no broken bones and only a few scratches. |
38 years without incident; millions of zoo goers obeyed the rules, read the signs and watched their kids. ![]() |
He climbed down part way, so the fall wasn't as high as the barrier. One bystander attempted to grab him, and instructed him to come back. He kept going. |
I wonder how many times his mom, who is a child care director took somebody else's kids under her care to the zoo? |
Good point. Someone should review the safety practices at her child care, especially during field trips. |
Or was involved in establishing the safety guidelines that the teachers at her school were required to follow on field trips or face dismissal. |
Harambe's genes might be passed down.
"After Harambe's death, reproductive biologists from the zoo's Center for Conservation and Research of Endangered Wildlife collected viable sperm from the animal. The center's assisted reproductive programs include research with artificial insemination and frozen sperm." http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2016/05/30/science-offers-future-out-harambes-remains/85166202/ Now if they could find some way to sterilize the mother... |
Was it a school trip or she just had too many kids herself? Population zero growth anyone? |
Gorillas, being non-human, cannot be "murdered". |
Let me guess, you're "pro-choice". |
From what I've read there were at least two bystanders that tried to grab him but couldn't get to him. The child wasn't listening to them and the child appears to be unusually calm during the video - I don't hear him crying, or panicking or trying to get away. His mother's calls to him "Mommy loves you!" seem a little odd too. But maybe her reassurance was what kept the boy calm? |
Another pro-choicer showing their true colors. |
This was a family outing. She was watching her own kids but as an administrator at a preschool she almost surely aware of very basic supervision guidelines. If a teacher had allowed this to happen during a field trip I can't imagine her telling the parents at her school "Well, you know, accidents happen." |
4 kids is not an insane amount of kids. And if they are all 4 handfuls you either know to bring someone along to help you supervise or you do not go. Period. |
