Now if they could find some way to sterilize the mother...

Let me guess, you're "pro-choice".

As any intelligent, moral person would be.

Intelligent and moral to sterilize someone against their will? Yeah, maybe in Margaret Sanger's parallel universe.

Do you think the 4 year old is involved in some sort of gorilla conspiracy?

Both gorilla and kid were black, so sure there's some kind of police conspiracy involved.

Probably that's why they murdered the gorilla.

Gorillas, being non-human, cannot be "murdered".

Harambe seemed more intelligent than many humans I've met (at least on DCUM). A shame he was murdered.

+1.

IMO the zoo had no option.

Really? And how was this intelligence manifested? Did he write a play? Do algebra? Solve a crossword?

Agreed.

Just make abortions more easily available.

It is a gorilla
It does not belong in a zoo

Death is preferable to life in a zoo.
It committed no crime to deserve incarceration, yet was locked up without rights

Return them all to the wild, and let the humans do with a photograph or a documentary film about them

And less demonized, and more exposed for being the ethical, moral, and compassionate choice many times.

FYI, Harambe was born in a zoo. He never lived "in the wild".

Thanks, I will. Because I believe in quality of life, and a being born into a loving family that *wants* you, and wants to care for you, is kind of really important.

Absolutely. I'd also add that they have the capability to care for you as well. Raising kids is hard. Maybe 4 little kids were too many for this family.

Anyway, shame about poor H.

So raising kids is hard, right? I'm sure raising 4 little kids is REALLY hard. It's not surprising that she lost track of one her kids for a bit.

BUT kids are still ultimately the parent's responsibility. So regardless of how difficult it is and how we all may fail at times, it is still the mother's fault that the kid got into the enclosure.

I can't believe so many people are willing to absolve her of that responsibility that we all have as parents. It affects my decisions constantly during the day.

Not many are absolving her of responsibility. Some, however, are advocating she be shot or sterilized, which is way beyond the pale.

We can only hope that those parents using her services will find other, and more responsible, childcare.
