Is Dark Matter Where the Seven Heavens Lie?

It's just absurd for atheists to say because a topic of science is being discussed in relation to heaven, they have something relevant to add to this discourse. This topic is not about dark matter. It's about the possibility of heaven existing there. If one does not believe in heaven, why would you even post? It's the premise of the thread for goodness sake. If dark matter interests you, by all means click on new topic and start a purely scientific discussion on dark matter. The agenda of mostly atheists here is to feign interest in science to sabotage the threads. That much is clear to me and now to others. In fact, I'm seeing a pattern in other religious threads too where atheists come to mock and derail topics even when it has nothing to do with science. I can only imagine they are bored in their lives and hate the feeling of being left out. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Hanukah, Easter, Eid, whatever your religious holidays are, must be lonely times for these atheists. So rather than create their own group, they work to try to break down our religious groups. It doesn't work to minimize our faith. All it does is make atheists a pain in the tush. We just have to learn to ignore them and continue to have conversations about religion.

FYI - thanksgiving is not a religious holiday. Also, many atheists (like many religious people) celebrate the cultural aspects of religious holidays, without any religious observance. There are practicing Christians who don't go to church on Christmas because they prefer spending time opening presents with their families under the Christmas tree.

Dunno how you convinced yourself that Christmas is purely a cultural holiday when the tree, exchanging of presents, everything about it except maybe the eggnog is based on christianity. But okay.

Xmas trees are pagan. Google it. And there are LOTS of atheists/agnostics out here! Why do you think church membership is dropping off so much? Only 30% of Millennials claim to be believers. Times have changed-- we no longer have to feign faith in order to celebrate holidays.

Pretty sure your numbers are off but I don't have any interest in engaging you.

But you just did! by responding, you engaged an atheist on a religion thread

You and the other atheists inundate the threads with your mocking posts or posts that take thread off track. It makes it harder to have a discussion. This is your intent, isn't it?

This. It's like you poor atheists can't stand the fact that there are believers out here. So you inundate religion threads and you do make it difficult for us believers to engage among ourselves. Is this deliberate like PP suggests, or just a manifestation of your extreme frustration that we believers exist?

Atheists, many of whom were once believers, are quite accustomed to living in a world that is majority believers. Many of their cherished family and friends are believers.

I don't understand why, after a believer made a statement on behalf of other believers about ignoring atheists, that you're still talking to atheists about atheism. Perhaps you enjoy engaging atheists after all.

Nope, I'm a complaining believer and I'm not OP.

I think the majority of the "complaining believer" posts are the OP sock puppeting.

If so, it still suggests that OP wants continued engagement with atheists

So, complaining believer -- do you want to continue complaining about how atheists take over religion threads on a religion thread after another believer has proposed ignoring atheists?

I would never rely on this forum to discuss religious matters, thanks anyway. You're the reason why, viz .,pages of derailments about you and your atheism (why do so many atheists have to talk about themselves constantly?) But yes, yes, I will continue to complain that you guys have derailed, thanks for suggesting it.

And here's some thanks to the one atheist above who did take the question seriously. Before beyond drowned out by the others.

I suggested ignoring the atheists and someone else concurred, but looks like at least one religious person will persist in complaining about atheists instead of ignoring them

Not even about the pagan Xmas trees?

I.e., it is just the present scientific name for the fact that God keeps the stars and planets on their appointed paths, even though we cannot find enough matter to account for the gravity necessary to do so.

I wrote as an atheist, but made no attempt to deny God, just to reconcile two concepts without concerning myself about how they fit my own beliefs. But I have seen no response to this, just argument about who should be allowed to post. To complain about people hijacking the thread and ignore someone who makes an effort to actually discuss the thread's topic strikes me as strange.

This is contrary to my belief system, which has described God only as a Light so intense that none can see him directly. I did not reply because it simply was different from my own belief and I had nothing more I could add to your comment.

I am the OP and not this PP. Clearly there are others who see what I see and wish it would just stop. I have no issue with speaking with atheists but they should keep with the topic. No sock puppet ing going on here.

OP here. I agree with the poster that said we should ignore the atheists that are trying to keep derailing this thread.

Getting back to the thread now...I posted this before but I am just in awe at the properties of dark matter that are similar to what the unseen world of God, angels, souls is: invisible, but clearly existing, able to pass through other bodies. Even if science can not catch up to explain it, I am in awe of what we do know thus far.

Well, it's nice that after calling attention to my post I finally got a response, but "thank you" is not the substantive response I had hoped for. Does anyone have any reaction to the idea that if there is a God, it is more consistent with the power and transcendence of God to visualize God permeating the universe and being responsible tor all we don't understand along with all we do, rather than as an individual residing in heaven and watching over us?

NP. I did not read this entire thread. But I will say that I believe in God, I believe in Jesus Christ, and I believe in science.

I believe that all truth is unveiled and we dont have 100% knowledge, but a gradual release of information. Therefore, I believe that they do not contradict, our understanding is just limited.

I also believe that the element of time is something that is tied closely to science, faith, and what happens when we pass away. I believe our souls can transition from this realm of time to another - and maybe that is where the dark matter is. Only it should be light matter right?

I believe our physical body dies, but our soul lives.

I believe angels exist, and that there are spiritual forces at work in this life that many of us are aware of - others are not.

I believe that people have a greater purpose than just existing to exist. The world is too purposeful, too connected, too beautiful to think that we don't have a greater purpose after being given so much dominion over it.

I don't have a bunch of statistics and resources to back up my belief. But I don't need that to have the confidence of my position and thought in this area..

Sounds good to me, but I'm an atheist! Seems like OP simply wanted to make an announcement and then have people agree with it.

Also, could be that a lot of religious people find the the idea of a god watching over them to be comforting, even if implausible, so prefer not to engage. That's sort of how I was when I was a believer.

Hi 10:27. I think a lot of religious folk think of God the way you describe him/her, as a power that permeates the universe, rather than an old guy with a beard who looks like Zeus. Christians who talk about the Son sitting at the right hand of the Father are using imagery rather than taking this as a literal representation of something going on in the sky above.

I don't really have an opinion on whether God resides in dark matter, or some other dimension entirely, and I don't think this is something we can know. I do think an omnipresent God, whatever form he takes, would be able to watch over us. Whether or not God intervenes in our lives or is basically a watchmaker has been debated for centuries.

You believe in science and the supernatural (e.g. angels). Both feel right to you, irrespective of any empirical evidence, right?

Thank you, PP! This is perfect. Science may not have the ability as of yet to prove all this, but NDE are finally shedding light on what we always believed to be true.

And some humans are entirely too egotistical to think that they will die forever just like all the other animals, despite their "dominion" while alive. For them, it's not enough to delight in being born and to live a long life on earth -- they need to think they will live forever, an another realm, after their body dies, like every other body on earth does.
