I think a lot of religious folk think of God the way you describe him/her, as a power that permeates the universe, rather than an old guy with a beard who looks like Zeus. Christians who talk about the Son sitting at the right hand of the Father are using imagery rather than taking this as a literal representation of something going on in the sky above. I don't really have an opinion on whether God resides in dark matter, or some other dimension entirely, and I don't think this is something we can know. I do think an omnipresent God, whatever form he takes, would be able to watch over us. Whether or not God intervenes in our lives or is basically a watchmaker has been debated for centuries. [/quote]
