| If your DD is truly elite, she’ll get recruited to a top D1 no matter where she plays club. If she’s not, and that’s most kids even on the “top” rosters, then the smartest move is to get on the best team she can and ride the wave. If that team is Capital Blue, you will thank your lucky stars. After the top few programs, the results fall off fast and everyone should know that at this point. Every year this same fantasy gets recycled by people trying to convince themselves there’s still some secret back door once the main path is already closing. There just isn't. |
| Most girls get recruited because college coaches see them at club tournaments. That’s just how it works. Coaches can’t be everywhere, so being on the right field with the right team matters a lot. If you’re a Kenzie Rassas or Riley Davis-level player, coaches will find you anywhere and pack the sideline to do it. And when they do, they’re also watching everyone else on that team. So unless your daughter is that level of obvious standout, the smartest move is simple: get her on the best team possible. Other routes exist, but they’re much harder, and pretending otherwise is fantasy. |

For anyone that has been through the Capital Tryouts, what drills does the club do to evaluate speed, stamina, and agility?
Do they have the girls run a timed mile, a 40 yard dash, etc? |
| They run 300s and 5-10-5. Some of the self reported times get interesting... |
Are the 300s run with 50 yard or 25 yard lengths? |
Where does this anger come from? Did someone piss you off? I don't understand why people would be threatened by this. |
Here are Capital’s recruiting highlights from the past five years. Judge for yourself if these are just a “couple” per year: 27 Dartmouth (2) Harvard (2) Hopkins Georgetown Duke Denver UVA (2) 26 Princeton Yale (2) Penn (2) Dartmouth Columbia (2) West Point Duke Michigan Denver 25 UNC Colorado Stanford Dartmouth Duke (2) Florida (2) Hopkins (2) Denver Vandy Notre Dame Navy Michigan 24 Yale Penn Princeton Syracuse JMU (2) Vandy Denver UVA 23 Navy UVA (2) Michigan (2) Northwestern Harvard Princeton Brown Georgetown Columbia Hopkins |
Victim mentality. |
This puts a fine point on it |
In the fall they practice once a week on Sunday because they assume and prefer the girls play other sports. That is the same with M&D and Skywalkers (although a couple of them have done skills practices for all HS players who don't play a fall sport during the week). They practice twice a week during the summer, same as everyone else. Fields and coaches aren't free. |
This is such a terrible take - the recruiting results are public I am not sure who said they would not do it again. Do I think it is perfect? No but the results speak for themselves. The Brand matters. 26 Orange parent |
They are complacent, social media is terrible, coaching is meh...but somehow it is still working....every year people come on here and say they want to be the next best thing and it never happens. The brand is the brand and competing wiith it is very difficult |
| Very true, brand is the most important thing about a club. You are paying for the brand of that club more than anything else, that is the product they sell you. |
| From what I've heard YJ DMV and YJ VA 2030 are all staying together. So that's a great option. |
This list is incredible. Some serious schools represented here. |
