There is zero chance that schools will open on Tuesday. Lows are going to be in the single digits and everything will be a glacier.

I think it could be open. If we get 8-10 inches on Sunday, schools should be open by Tuesday.

The models indicate 8-10 inches by 7am Sunday morning. The snow forecasts will be updated later to reflect that what happens after 7am, this is going to be a 14+ inch snowfall guaranteed.

The kids will be out the entire week.

It’s the end of the semester. FCPS will open on Tuesday if at all possible.

Decent. 30% at least

Dr. Reid isn't so conservative, so you never know. She sent the kids to school last year when some neighborhood roads near us were icerinks. You saw people without awd sliding around and getting stuck at minor hills. It will be below freezing so she should probably keep kids home for safety.

She kept schools closed for 4 days hoping those roads would thaw and then gave up on day 5 with a 2 hour delay. Most of the county could have gone back on day 2 or 3 that week.

2 weeks?!?

I was new to the area and had just started working. All levels of govt shut down.

Nope. See you in February!

CWG seems to think 8 inches at the top. My guess is 8-10 and then sleet

If we get 10 inches of snow plus sleet and ice, they will probably need Monday and Tuesday to dig everyone out and salt the parking lot and sidewalks. Then we can reopen for half a day! 🤣

8-10 inches would put schools out for a week.

Are you new here?

School will be closed all week.

Secondary roads won't be cleared until Wednesday.

Yep.

The whole city including the federal govt was shut down.

It was pre work issued laptop days, so it was real snow days with parents out in the snow playing with the kids instead of inside working. It was glorious.

Will Saturday activities be pre-emptively canceled?

A two-hour delay on the same day as a two-hour early release? Not a chance.

+1. The week for sure. Thinking otherwise is just delusional.
