Total rubbish.

+1. The fact that PP mentions St. Andrews and LSE and not Imperial or King's College tells you they have no idea what they are talking about. Here are the recent QW world university rankings: Imperial College 2; Oxford 4; Cambridge 6, King's College 31; Edinburgh 34; LSE 56, and St. Andrews at a low 136. https://www.topuniversities.com/universities/university-st-andrews

QS rankings are garbage for undergraduate education…..looks at US unis. Notre Dame, which is a TOP 20 undergraduate uni, is ranked way after schools like Arizona State….or other mediocre state univeristies in the US.

And yet the world, wiki, and the Chronicle of Higher Education disagrees with you. https://www.asu.edu.eg/QsRanking/

Sure. Go ahead and send your kids to Arizona State while mine will go to Notre Dame….

A) We didn't ask, nor do we care
B) Now its obvious why you're c*ckriding QS rankings so much; it's because they put Oxford at 4

Haha. You walked right into it with your taunt re Arizona. The more reputable rankings services have Oxford as no. 1, of course. Try not to be such a jerk on the internet. https://www.ox.ac.uk/news/2025-10-09-oxford-named-best-university-world-record-tenth-consecutive-year#:~:text=AwardsEducationResearchUniversity,demanding%20benchmark%20of%20university%20performance.

I’m not the PP. Yiu assume to much. I’m the ASU poster. Clearly the top 20 or so are the obvious ones. But please, dont pretend that the whole QS rankings are completely irrelevant for undergrad. the ASU was simply a point about how ridiculous it is to use that rankings in the US to compare schools like Notre Dame and Georgetown and Dartmouth to ASU or U of Arizona….please….

Yes, QS rankings outside the elite top 20 or is complete waste of time to evaluate Undergraduate excellence. Some of the examples above are obvious one. There are plenty more. There is not one single ranking that quantifies/qualifies anything. When looking at undergraduate education, certain rankings are more in line with the reality of that undergraduate institution. Sometimes individual major rankings are more appropriate. It all depends on the goal of the student here. For the UK, it makes sense to look at their own internal UK rankings (there are 3 of them, CUG, Times and Guardian) and see what they all say about the uni and the individual programs. It becomes pretty easy to see trends between the top 7-10 and the rest over the years. Then it is about fit…..go visit. Talk to graduates and current students in the 1st and last year. Get real actionable data and opinions instead of listening to know it alls in this board…

+1. I just love it when the arrogant twits -who have no idea what they are talking about - set themselves up to look like idiots in this board. They try to argue a position but when others, rationally, show them to be wrong, instead of agreeing and/or slinking away, they double down and scream louder and throw insults. But, invariably, they get hoist by their own petard and are shown to be the cantankerous fools that they are.
