The final UK undergrad ranking came out last night. Now all 3 are officially out.
https://www.thetimes.com/uk-university-rankings/league-table This the The Times & Good Sunday rankings: 1 LSE 2 St Andrews 3 Durham =4 Oxford =4 Cambridge 6 Imperial 7 Bath 8 Warwick 9 UCL 10 Bristol 11 Strathclyde 12 Loughborough |
|
Yes that's the Times rankings. The universally accepted rankings are the Complete University Guide. It is impartial. It's also more accurate
https://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/ |
|
More accurate? They are all pretty much the same:
Complete University Guide rankings from this summer: 1. University of Cambridge 2. University of Oxford 3. LSE 4. University of St Andrews 5. Durham University 6. Imperial College London 7. Loughborough University 8. University of Bath 9. University of Warwick 10. Lancaster University 11. University of Exeter |
|
And Guardian’s from last week here:
Rank Institution Guardian score 1 University of Oxford 100 2 University of St Andrews 98.6 3 University of Cambridge 94.5 4 LSE 88.1 5 Imperial College London 82.6 6 Durham University 80.8 7 University of Bath 79.5 8 University of Warwick 75.2 9 University College London 74.8 10 Loughborough University 74 |
| Any uk ranking that doesn’t have Oxbridge as top two is BS. |
| Same Top 6 on all 3 rankings…. |
|
Just average them out:
This is the avg using the same weight: 1. Oxford — avg 2.33 2. Cambridge / LSE & St Andrews — tied at avg 2.67 3. Durham — avg 4.33 4. Imperial — avg 6.00 5. Warwick — avg 8.00 6. Bath — avg 7.67 7. Loughborough — avg 10.00 8. UCL — avg 10.67 9. Lancaster — avg 11.33 10. Exeter — avg 14.00 |
Your averages are not correct…. This is the correct avg of all 3: 1. Oxford — 2.33 2. Cambridge / LSE / St Andrews — 2.67 3. Durham — 4.33 4. Imperial — 6.00 5. Bath — 7.67 6. Warwick — 8.00 7. Loughborough — 10.00 8. UCL — 10.67 9. Lancaster — 13.00 10. Bristol — 13.33 11. Exeter — 14.00 |
|
Only two schools are considered tops, obviously: oxford and cambridge.
LSE also has a strong reputation, but only in the business world. |
LSE has equally stringent admissions criteria but you're correct it is a financially leaning university. It also has 50% of its undergraduates from overseas, when you throw in post-grads, 70% of their total students are international. So the rest of the (financial) world clearly doesn't agree with the mom from VA |
|
Oxford is #1.
No surprise. |
Why do you assume that I am a VA housewife? |
DP. Did you forget what website you're on? Most people on here are from DC, MD, and VA. Who are you expecting to respond to this post? If OP wanted the opinion from people living in the UK, they should have known not to post this here. |
| Imperial College London is the MIT/CalTech equivalent for the UK, except that Imperial also has a medical school. |
