DP but also a Black Women. Abigail Spanberger did the right thing calling it out. My extended family is southern, working class, and a lot of veterans. Definitely more socially conservative but typically vote democrat. When visiting North Carolina this summer it was more “I’m an independent” and “I see myself as a moderate” than I have seen in my lifetime. MAGA is not well liked by them either for an abundance of reasons, but a lot of people feel like they aren’t getting anything in return for party loyalty. I highly suggest all of these politicians tighten up and do it fast. Telling people to get over it or to just deal is a direct pathway to failure.
