Racist sign at Arlington rally to oppose Winsome Sears

Is she white, 55+ with short hair and a mid life spread? How did I know?

No. But the woman with the sign works for the City of Alexandria and as a paid protester for various causes. It will be interesting to find out if she was paid to attend the event yesterday and who paid her.

Protesters are not paid, you stupid twit

Of course they are, often. You mean you haven’t been getting your payments?

Usually MAGA make a claim and then we find out that they’re making it because they’re doing it. So I guess all 1/6 MAGA were paid. By whom? Thiel? Musk? Vance?

Adding to this, the teacher is white, seemed like the vast majority in attendance opposing Sears were white.

Yeah. The same people who are vociferously defending the sign as not racist also try to cancel anyone who accidentally uses a wrong pronoun.

And the people who say it isn’t racist won’t answer the question of whether that sign would ever appear at the rally of a white conservative male politician. Because, of course, they know the answer.

Stay with us here, it might be long.

Words have meanings. “Racist” is a word.

“‘Racist’ can refer to both a belief and a behavior:
• As a noun (a person): Someone who believes that races have inherent differences that make some superior or inferior to others, and who discriminates or prejudges people based on race.
• As an adjective (a description): An action, comment, policy, or system that expresses, promotes, or results in discrimination or prejudice against people because of their race.

In short, racist = involving prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism against someone because of their race or ethnicity.“

Ok, so that didn’t happen here. What happened was that a person was trying to draw a parallel between the struggles of black people and the struggles of trans people. It was insensitive and probably disrespectful, but it wasn’t racism.

That’s what this woman did.

DP. So you think the line, “blacks can’t use my water fountain” is NOT racist? That’s really the position you want to take?

No one is buying your bad faith arguments, sock puppet. The woman wasn’t being literal, it wasn’t a threat, and it wasn’t racist. She was comparing forcing CHILDREN to use a bathroom that doesn’t comport with their gender ideology to Jim Crow. I get that you are so obsessed by other people’s genitalia that you wish to police where the pee and poop, and I know arguing in bad faith is basically second nature to you at this point, but you need to know we see right through your bullshit.

At the end of the day, you can try to rebrand Winsome Sears in pastels and soft light all you want, but the bad-faith politics that tricked Northern Virginia into electing Youngkin aren’t going to work again. Youngkin had been a terrible governor, Trump is hated, and everyone remembers full well the wide-eyed crazy lady carrying an AR-15 as their defining image of Sears. She ain’t getting elected, no matter how much you try to pull this shit.

Is that a threat ?

And, she made a big mistake in equating them. There is no equating it. And, it was directed to Sears, who happens to be Black.

The fact that she cannot seen the difference is a big problem.

I don't understand how I can vote for an immigrant when we are deporting so many immigrants. Is Sears a good immigrant somehow? I worry she will bring more immigrants to Virginia.

The thing is, the sign is right. Once you have ended transgenderism, what is next? They will want to end desegregation. You have to keep drumming up a new enemy - that's how it works.

She's saying the stance on trans kids now is the same as the stance on black/white water fountains then.

This has GOT to be fake MAGA outrage because no one could be so dumb as to not understand what she was saying. .Can't you get the black vote without lying Trumpers? MAGA manipulative scum post right here.

Except that it’s not the same issue. No where close.

I’m a black woman and I think there’s definitely an analogy. I’m not alone.

The analogy is a threat, stand with us on every issue or we'll support the return of Jim Crow.

Sears supports the return of Jim Crow.

She supports a pedo

She supports a felon

She has no policies of her own ie va economy nope nothing

She’s a liar and a snake .

At this point in time if you vote for one republican you are anti American there is no reality that is not true.

Supporting the party that is suing to stop your voting rights is anti American to its core

Winsome wants no one to ever vote again she wants Trump to stay in office after his term. As an American that is against everything we stand for.

100 percent this

One would have zero brains cells to vote for her.

The Arlington Democrats put out this message.

“We unequivocally condemn the racist sign displayed at last night’s School Board rally. The individual responsible is not affiliated with us, and we acted quickly to alert the rally’s organizers and ensure the situation was addressed appropriately. Racism and discrimination in all forms—including Republican attacks on our transgender community—have no place in Arlington. We urge Democrats to stay focused on our mission from last night’s rally: electing competent, empathetic leaders who defend the core American value of equal protection for all.”

So now Abigail Spanberger (for whom the sign holder worked as a door knocker), We of Action (who organized and funded the rally), and the Arlington Democrats (whose signs are displayed in sign lady's front yard) have all strongly condemned the message expressed in the sign. Which puts them directly at odds with the actions of their members and supporters.

Sign lady and an Arlington teacher both used the same analogy at the same event, sign lady was not just a lone actor. The chairman of the Arlington Democrats only asked her to take down her sign when it made the news and no one from We of Action said anything. So their so-called unequivocal condemnation was only in the face of public condemnation. Which bears out in all the comments here defending the same message that Spanberger, We of Action, and the Arlington Democrats so proudly denounced. Quite a disconnect between their public statements and private thoughts.

Meanwhile the Black Lives Matter chapter from Norfolk commented on the suggestion that the sign was satire:

We aren't buying it, and we are pissed off.

Oops, messed up the formatting on that one. The end quote was supposed to be after the first paragraph. The BLM quote was:

We aren't buying it, and we are pissed off.

Please explain how allowing males into female spaces is the same? At all? Unless you say any form of segregation is bad - even if based on sex. If identity is all a choice - there is no such thing as being black, so I guess I could get there with that view….

DP, but being transgender is the same thing as being black.

I mean, the MAGAs are out to get rid of both.
