In general there is oversaturation of "elite" clubs because of the presence of both GA and ECNL. MLSN is making it worse with MLSN2 So instead of ECNL-G and ECNL B there is now ECNL-G and GA MLSN and ECNL-B ECNL-RL and MLSN2/GA2 For now local teams will compete on national level in GA but with the rapid expansion soon they won't be able to do so any longer. And on the boys side not even the Samba Boyz will be relevant any longer nationally. |
Agreed that this is diluting the talent pool further. Also note that of the 32 2011 girls invited to the regional US soccer talent ID center today only six are from GA clubs. None are from SYC or TSJ. The top ECNL girls from NVA and FVU should try to make it onto the remainingECNL clubs instead of go GA. |
No its not. Not GA. Almost every girl in the YNT pipeline is ECNL. |
Yeah but the 2011 SYC team is largely populated from a Valor team that played in RL the year before, and anyone who would've been on TSJ that was good enough to get called up had already left and presumably went to VDA. TSJ will continue not to have any invites, and maybe you'll see 1 or 2 girls from the 2012 SYC team get an invite next year. |
Thank you ECNL coach. Just wait 2 more years. U will eat your words
|
Why would they want to? Goal of soccer on the girl's side is college. I don't see how this would help. |
McLean started Union with SYC because they needed a player pool. Then SYC applied for MLSNext and left. Nobody forced Loudoun to do NVA. They did it to acquire Valor players. Tell me you know nothing about any of this without telling me you know nothing about any of this. NM the scammer strikes again! |
How could SYC not have a single 2009/2010/2011 training center invitation? The self proclaimed best girls club in virginia! |
today, yes, but not 3-8 years from now because of the shift that is happening now |
The 09/10/11 cycle is the one has been going on for a while. They even had girls selected who were injured for 1 year and some who played on different teams now. SYC should def have some for the new cycle of IDs coming in since they have been in GA for 4-5 months. |
That was the original goal with ECNL but that is not the goal with GA. And with the GA-blessing-by-US-Soccer and the MLSN clubs affiliating with GA, GA will be positioned as the NWSL/pro pathway, because folks think GA will mirror the MLSN-to-pro/MLS pathway. |
What are you GA dads smoking? |
How many Valor players displaced LS players from going to NVA? |
Since you can tell the future, what are Saturday's Powerball winning numbers? |
I am glad it is not GA's goal because they suck at it. Their is no pathway --- there is a loose alliance that means zero today at least. It is what people enter into to see if there might be something to do in the future. The PP who said 3-8 years is right. And if they wanted to build something the alliance would be with NWSL not MSL. Did anyone tell NWSL about this pathway? The girls that go play pro now come from ECNL? NWSL is not going to enter into anything that changes that over the next several years. They do not have the money to do that. If NWSL did do anything it would be an arrangement with ECNL. The key on the girl's side is college. Going pro is less than 1% of the girls. Most would not want it in any event. Certainly not on the UMC/UC teams in this area. Look at where people are going -- Ivies, Vandy, G'Town, even the high academic D3s. Pro is not a priority except for a small few. If you listen to what people are saying on here they would be building a pathway for 40 girls a year to the exclusion of the rest. |
