This one got three years: https://www.cnn.com/2022/08/05/politics/fauci-threatened/index.html |
Why aren’t they in jail? |
Read the article idiot https://www.cnn.com/2022/08/05/politics/fauci-threatened/index.html |
And these types of threats (the ones that don’t make news) are all things Fauci, the police, and his own private security can handle. You and I don’t have the specifics on what the current threat level to Fauci is- but someone knows it and decided he doesn’t warrant government security |
Yes I’m sure trump carefully considered the threat level while taking revenge on fauci |
If people find this outrageous, I hope they can acknowledge how outrageous Biden's refusal to provide a security detail to RFK was. |
How is a sentencing from an incident (bunches of threatening emails) in 2020 relevant to why the government should still providing him with 24 hr security? Covid is over. It’s been over. He hasn’t worked in his role since 2022. I’m not seeing a compelling case for continued security on the tax payers dime |
Way to love the goalposts |
I don't like him, but I think he should get security. There are lots of people who hate him and lots of sickos out there too. I'm willing to bet there is some overlap in that group. The dude should not have to live in fear, and God forbid something happens. And beyond that, what kind of message would it send to people considering highly visible roles in public health if he got attacked and the government could have stopped it but didn't? |
What goalposts? He was actively working for the government in 2020 when this occurred and had security provided. He left his job in 2022. He had security provided for 5 yrs past when those threats occurred and 3 yrs after stopping down. No, he doesn’t get lifetime security from the government. |
Correct assessment. |
If you don't see a compelling case then you are completely clueless to things that surround you. I ROUTINELY see vicious comments and threats toward Fauci in social media, online comments to articles and so on, which does make a compelling case for protection. You don't see a compelling case because you are blind to it and are essentially showing us that you are unqualified to judge the situation. To me your ignorance sounds as profound as someone saying "I walked around my neighborhood and I didn't see any issue about supposed California wildfires, why are people talking about FEMA and disaster aid?" - when don't get any news and you live in Jacksonville Florida, 2000 miles from where peoples homes got burned down. |
He's still getting threats. |
And he still has security. It’s just not taxpayer funded to the tune of $15 million for life, as his former position in government doesn’t warrant that. |
Here's a crazy idea: Trump and other republicans could stop spreading conspiracy theories that lead their dimwitted followers to make threats against him. Then he wouldn't need security. |
