Don't worry, the rich kids can still go to college. |
IDEA enforcement is delegated to the states, not to OCR. OCR is supposed to handle discrimination, which is a bit different, and there can be overlapping claims. IDEA complaints, mediation, and due process are ALL handled at the state level (unless a due process case ends up going to federal court). |
^^ Also, DOJ does not act on civil rights claims for disabilities for the most part, it's a resource issue. |
This isn't something Trump said recently.
I don't know when the clip was recorded, but it wasn't since the election. |
How do you measure teacher quality? Standardized tests? Student questionnaire? Admin observation? Student growth? Parent feedback? Who will take on this task? I can see a ton of lawsuits ahead. It is more than the “woke” stuff that is pushing teachers away from this career. Obnoxious parents, violent students, loads and loads of paperwork, lack of planning time, lack of respect and exhaustion come to mind. |
That is the point. |
You're laying all this at the feet of the DOE when, in fact, both initiatives were not DOE creations. NCLB The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB)[1][2] was a 2002 U.S. Act of Congress promoted by the presidency of George W. Bush. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Child_Left_Behind_Act Common Core The Common Core State Standards Initiative, also known as simply Common Core, was an American, multi-state educational initiative begun in 2010 with the goal of increasing consistency across state standards, or what K–12 students throughout the United States should know in English language arts and mathematics at the conclusion of each school grade. The initiative was sponsored by the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Core |
People are publicizing all the nutty things he’s said in the last ~2 years and acting as if they are as good as EOs. To scare or to troll or to preview the delightful things to come! |
Also all that making schools handicapped accessible is just moronic, apparently. Just a waste of money! |
Do you believe in chemtrails and bigfoot too? |
Not trolling here but generally curious why so many college kids (not just conservative) are heading to SEC colleges in droves. UTenn, UK, Auburn, Alabama, SC all so popular at our MD high school now. Will these kids migrate to red states after graduation? Are these colleges any good? How are they funded if these states don't prioritize education funding? |
Math. If fewer people apply, there is less competition for the desirable slots. |
Was it the tea leaves or the entrails we were supposed to look at to tell if he was serious or joking? I forgot. |
ABC reported on his Agenda 47 on the 7th. I already posted the link in this thread. I'm pretty sure that Elon just posted a tweet today with a video of him shutting the DoE. |
Pop culture. It’s huge now to pledge at certain heavy media promoted colleges all of which are in the south and SEC schools. |
