GOP leadership sitting on its hands.

Interesting, since that’s an F—- you from the GOP House leader to DeSantis. The Republican caucus is a disaster.

I’m pretty sure Desantis is on board. The GOP’s goal is to make it look like Biden Harris and the government can’t do anything in order to bolster the GOP’s chances to win in November. It’s ghoulish and offensive, but that’s the play.

It will come back to bite them. All it does is hurt Floridians who will probably vote Trump anyway. But it shines a light on GOP cravenness and push GA and NC to Harris.

I am listening to DeSantis doing his briefing and it is excellent: serious, detailed, urging extreme caution. If only he could drop the pandering to the Christian hard right bull crap and focus this way all the time. He could have been a good governor.

He put in a law that Florida's government can not even use the term climate change. That is not good government. That is F ed up misinformation.

Right, and now he is giving a completely normal briefing taking this event very seriously. That is what I am saying. He can't hold both positions at once. His conduct a lot of the time is puzzling and contradictory.

Because this storm is literally going to wield massive destruction upon his state and kill people. He can't get away with any bullcrap about this monster or he would.

Climate change does not care about bullcrap or politics. It will just take Florida down regardless if you speak of it and face it or if you try to BS your citizens that it does not exist. He needs to go away.

Republicans are just killing their own with this climate change denial crap. Most of the south will be swallowed into the ocean or burn up.

Agree yet it’s no longer a natural disaster though due to climate change.

He IS going away. Climate change isn't. You can't fool people about something not being real when they literally have first row seats to it. A good briefing might save a few lives and so will a good response.

And they will still deny it and get some people to believe them. Get rid of them.
