Please report back when you’re 50 or close to it, thx.

I’m 51. 50 is old. The problem is that it is ingrained that old=bad but I don’t think it’s true. Old means not young.

Sounds like someone needs a bigger vocabulary. My parents are 80. They are old. I am not the same kind of old as my parents, sorry. That’s way too broad a term to apply to a span of 30-40 years.

Why? I am closer in age to your parents than my teens. Frankly, all these defenses that 50 is not old has more to do with people’s insecurities than anything of meaning. If you are living a great life, who care if someone younger than you thinks you are old.

Because 50 is not old. Average longevity for women who are now 50 would be 94 yo, if healthy. It’s 44 more years of an adult life, on average

This is so sad. Are you one of those posters who talk about how young you look too?

No. 50 is not even retirement age. Not “elderly” officially in the US. When my mom was 50 and I was ok my 20s she worked full time and I didn’t think she was old.

Maybe your friends and family consider you old, or that’s how you feel. But for many people 50 is not old. Men often start second families at 50

Who said elderly? See, it is you who attaches negativity to the word old. I think it just is. I doing very well at 51, maybe that’s why I don’t get all defensive when people say 50 is old? I know how I am doing. I feel no need to convince anyone that I am not old.

Old generation to me means retirees. Baby boomers. Not healthy active adults in all areas of life.

We’re talking about what’s old. You talk about longevity. But then you eliminate the people dead before 50? Ok. Odd.

Yeah, if 50 is old, what is 80+?

Also old? If a 2 year old is young, how can a 25 year old be young? You guys are hilarious.

So you would put a two year old and a 25 year old in the same bracket.

The two year old is a baby. The 25 year old is an adult.

And I'm confused by the people who imagine that people in their 50s no longer have an interest in sex, as if they are old rickety people whose bones can't handle it or something. I understand that those who are very young, like under 25, see anyone over 50 as an ancient grandma. But anyone in their 30s or older who has a job and is in daily contact with "peers" who are over 50 has no excuse. This IG post features celebrities who look better at 50 than most of us looked at 25. But it still makes this point. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6mfFgnyCuf/?igsh=MXRvd2ZneWRlOWo1eg%3D%3D&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR31Ty3JF-tpzWN64lH0xcGxI3HrY9Pfyx9Ttxam-uh7duQBGPVoVqwiBiY_aem_AYHNq9AAyzOCxpCtWqPYY7ELdZw_rSov4ToJG91b0njRYAYXowqjjCEyqBxxJgBGYXA6qYUS1IRrwaRvYjGXnJK9

I’m sorry these women are old.
Maybe you are over 50 and that’s why you don’t find them old.

Dating at 50 when you should be celebrating 25 years of marriage? Yeah, 50 is old to be dating, sorry. Dating is for young people.

I beg to differ. My gf (55) and I (50) are doing the best dating of our lives. I feel pretty confident that it's the young people who don't know how to date.

It all depends on the person. Many examples of two people roughly the same age, one looks great and the other one looks old and broken.

Very true. I am 42 and younger men tell me I don't look a day over 21. My mother also is 65 and has no wrinkles. So i get away with dating younger men and I often look younger than those younger men as well

Right. You keep right on believing that.

Right. You keep right on believing that.

Agreed. That's ridiculous. Either those young men are dumb or you are gullible. Maybe you could pass for 10 years young, but not 20 years.

lol I remember when I was 21. People who were 25 seemed old to me. The only people who think a 30 or 42 year old could be 21 are 60 and 70 year olds.

I wonder if you are some overweight unattractive woman posting it. You feel old, slow because of your swollen knees. And you feel an urge to repeat over and over again to other women and men who are active and live fulfilling lives, dating, finding jobs, having kids etc at that age.

I would love to see your photo. I am
a bi woman and see plenty of very sexy younger looking women in their 50s on the apps.

About to turn 60 (f) and I totally agree! Have never felt better. Have definitely never had this much fun... at least not since my 30s.
