Sounds like someone needs a bigger vocabulary. My parents are 80. They are old. I am not the same kind of old as my parents, sorry. That’s way too broad a term to apply to a span of 30-40 years.

Why? I am closer in age to your parents than my teens. Frankly, all these defenses that 50 is not old has more to do with people’s insecurities than anything of meaning. If you are living a great life, who care if someone younger than you thinks you are old. [/quote]

No. 50 is not even retirement age. Not “elderly” officially in the US. When my mom was 50 and I was ok my 20s she worked full time and I didn’t think she was old.

Maybe your friends and family consider you old, or that’s how you feel. But for many people 50 is not old. Men often start  second families at 50
