A Sidwell alum who, acc to other alums and parents, can’t write.

It’s not clear that the people criticizing her writing are Sidwell alums, but if they are that’s fine. Harvard and Penn alums should feel free to join in too, since she’s an alumna of those universities as well.

The basics are taught at Sidwell, yes?

If you want to believe that Sidwell’s writing program is terrible because some anonymous posters on a gossip listerv are criticizing this author’s writing abilities, I’m happy to let you keep believing it. Enjoy your day.

As much as you were enjoying the comments criticizing her writing before it was pointed out where she first learned to write.

What are you talking about? It was pretty clear by the second page of this thread that the author is a Sidwell alum.

Btw, your post is nearly unintelligible. You are clearly not a Sidwell alum. 😂

Oh, but how would you know? I hear Sidwell alums are not always the best writers.

😁

And I hear other private (and public) school parents and students love to hate Sidwell. We’re used to it because that’s what happens when you’re on top. Hi Sidwell hater. 👋

SN: Even the author didn’t want to write a book about Maret because no one would read or talk about it.

We’re on page 14 of a thread about a fictional novel about Sidwell. All publicity is good publicity, so let’s keep it going! 😊

Is anyone reading this book? How are sales?

How do you know it's about Sidwell?

It’s an elite Quaker school located on Wisconsin Avenue. If you read it and are at all familiar with DC and its private schools there is no question.

The book is about:
1. A Quaker school in DC (there is only one Quaker high school in DC),
2. A Quaker school that has educated President’s children, among other VIPs, and
3. The US principal in the book shares the same (unique French name) as the recently retired US principal, as well as other similar identifiers.

The author’s biography also alludes to the fact that she’s a graduate of the school.

So you read it? Did you pay for it?

Nope. Skimmed through it at P&P.
I would never buy that book.

Read it, as an alum and a parent have seen some crazy things at Sidwell over the decades and was hoping it would capture some of that. But this book was crap, like a mashup of poorly written New York post articles about woke prep schools and revenge fantasies of someone whose kid probably got rejected by Sidwell, with a ridiculous and not credible plot twist at the end. Save your money and time, read something else

Kind of sad if the author of this book attacking Sidwell is on the parents association at maret https://www.maret.org/about-us/leadership

Someone taking their weird Sidwell obsessions way too far…
