What does this even mean?
It means that a lot of the extra money MCPS is spending on PR is being spent to spread lies here on DCUM.

Anyone know what McKnight’s “swift and decisive” action is? Beidleman and anyone else on admin leave are still collecting paychecks for sitting around doing nothing.

Seriously, why are taxpayers still paying for Joel's legal defense fund?

I STILL don’t want a principal with crap judgment like that getting promoted. And the people above him who protected the crappy judgment? I don’t want them in charge of my kids’ education.

So mcps teachers take note… If you feel that uncomfortable please remove yourself from the situation and report it formally. I would say don’t continue to go to after school events and enjoy drinks with the person harassing you. Don’t laugh at the jokes and in turn have ones of your own. Do not send your harasser pics of yourself in a bathtub.Sounds quite simple to go to work and do your job? GUESS WHAT MCPS TEACHERS… In the real workforce people aren’t getting wasted and going to bars after work and inviting co workers to their homes to get drunk. Separate your personal and professional lives it’s just that simple. It’s like a bunch of teenagers worked at Farquhar.

If only there was someone who was in like a leadership position that is supposed to set a professional tone for the staff, and if they weren't doing that they'd get fired or at least not promoted....

You all are making this man out to be some sort of GOD that would put you into eternal hell if you didn’t abide by his rules. Let’s look within on how anyone can give a Principal that much power in a county with hundreds of other schools to work at. The main accuser made this whole story weak with her desire to have a relationship with him from the start. I know it’s hard to blame the so called victim but let’s call a spade a spade.

How is the victim's story weak when both the law firm MCPS hired and the OIG validated the claims made against Joel by the victim? You're not making sense.

So Dr. B's first name Joel?

That’s what Jane Doe(s) called him 😉 How professional.

Professional...do you mean like Joel acted professionally for years, calling students hoes, and sexually harassing and bullying staff? You are hilarious.

You seem a bit unhinged. People can disagree with your priorities.

At my school all staff call our principal by his first name. That's not unusual.

and that’s a problem.

Why is this a problem? I've worked in schools for 30 years and most people call the principal and assistant principal by their first names when adults are around but by their titles in the company of students and parents. This isn't unique or unprofessional. We are colleagues and address one another in that way. You all are just reaching with this one!

I agree. What is the action for those who were placed on leave? Where the heck are they? What are they doing? Eugenia Dawson, Donna Redmond Jones, Diane Morris (although I heard she was gone) Michaele Simmons (saw her job posted) Joshua Munsey (not related to the Paint Branch debacle) Where did Khalid Walker end up? Will a new Central Office Leadership Flow Chart be published? How long will these acting executives (retirees) be in place?

Jones, Morris, and Walker are all still in the staff directory, in HR. The others are not.

There are also many men who were mistreated, bullied and retaliated against by this man and his enablers.

The report says, "In 2017, Beidleman was
reimbursed for a hotel room he reserved in connection with a Farquhar leadership team
development event. The expense was later determined by MCPS’s internal audit unit to not be in compliance with MCPS policy, however they did not require him to repay the funds."

There's a few questions with this portion of the report. Did other leadership team members get reimbursed for their hotels rooms?

Why are they going to Baltimore? And how much of the school's funds were spent over the years for the leadership team to go to Baltimore for "development"? Development is really a vague term when he was actually holding his summer ILT meetings in a hotel in Baltimore. He would get a conference room, have the majority of the ILT book a hotel room and after their meetings, the partying would start. Meanwhile, summer ILT meetings at most schools are conducted in school buildings. What else was paid for by MCPS?

Holding his ILT out of town, at a hotel. Huh.

Are a school's funds public information? And did any of the staff members care about these events while they were on ILT? Are any of those staff members now saying he mistreated them?

I’ve always wondered why we can’t see every penny a school spends. They are public so it should be readily available

And yes, how is it that he didn’t have to payback that money. Just another example of how he was protected. The next IG report is going to be fire

Because it's none of your business that a principle used their discretionary funds to help the xx number of students whose families couldn't afford school field trips, or other items

What field trips did kids actually have to pay for?!?

He publicly shamed faculty for not showing up to social events. During faculty meetings he would scold all of us and say things like “we are still going to plan events”. And he, and his enablers, would make a big deal when teachers would show up. Like it was part of a hazing process to work at the school. Disgusting and toxic

I can tell there are ex PTA presidents on here and those who couldn’t get away with being subpar teachers that tried to fail all the black kids in their classes and Mr. B wouldn’t stand for. Say what you want but he protected a lot of kids in that school.

It's one or two people who are just crazy obsessed with McKnight and see this as their chance to remove her.

I remember that many never wanted to see her as the superintendent, so for those people, this is definitely an opportunity they want to pounce on. I don’t know how much she knew about these grievances. My guess is that there are others who do the research and just give her their recommendation on who to promote. Beidleman is well connected with some in central and they are the ones who put him through (probably the same people who are on leave now). I think Monifa would have to get rid of a lot of people in central office in order to keep her position and establish trust.

Really glad to know she's at the helm during this difficult time.
