We had to move my mom in with us and it may wreck my marriage - advice needed

Since when is parenting a selfless act? There are selfless acts sure in parenting but it's not all sacrifice. Children are products of sex and have throughout generations been a help to the family.

Law enforcement will take the old person’s side. The more threatening one if there is a choice.

Low income housing is very nice now. Your mother would be fine in one. Tour a few and you’ll see what I mean. You can choose between senior only and all ages.

And what if OP's mom does not allow OP to take over the finances?

Stop giving her money. If she can handle her own finances, then she can handle her own finances. Stop enabling her bad financial habits by giving her money.
