Yea, seems like a good way to refocus our efforts on the root cause of mental health crisis.

Great idea!!!

? "Mental health crisis" is a Republican talking point. See also: "Criminals."

The crisis is widespread retail access to assault weapons.

To that point, there's some sweet deals here if you're in the market:

But, yes, the new term (replacing soggy old, failed "gun control") is Massacre Reduction.

“massacre reduction” is a democrat talking point. See also “common sense gun safety laws”

At least have the honesty to call it what you actually want: “gun bans and gun confiscation”

Just be honest about it. Let people decide on the real goal, rather than hiding it in deliberately non-specific euphemisms.

Idiot,

Massacre Reduction is not a Democratic talking point, but it should be. See

I’m noticing a prevailing trend here: gun grabbers and hoplophobes like you always seem to begin their retort with an insult.

Why is that? Why are you incapable of discussion without insulting others? What do you attribute that to? A lack of self control?

NP.

I’ve noticed that about them too.

Seems kinda mentally unstable of them.

If someone was using an excellerant that burned dozens of houses in a minute and teens were getting their hands on this accelerant and burning down neighborhoods. Wouldn't we try to ban that accelerant just like we did some fertilizer used in bombs??! Same for these guns.

The arguments are immaterial. The gun industry doesn't care about any of them. Vote for what you want not what the gun industry wants. Your interests care not aligned with their interests.

So gun nuts want to harden schools? Does this mean gun and ammo manufacturers and gun owners will pay for this? Are we going to tax these people to pay for this? The non gun owners should not have to give a dime for this.

Why do we have to build every building like a fortress? What about our freedoms??

Your freedoms don’t count. I don’t want my child in a heavily fortified building like we are living in a war zone. I don’t want my child to have to active shooter drills. But my wishes don’t matter apparently. I am supposed to go along with hardening schools and acting like I am living in Somalia because “freedom” as defined by some ill people.

You have no freedom and you must pay for it. This is what the republicans stand for,

We need to get rid of these AR 15s. Just pay off the manufacturers and the sellers and be done with it.

I do not want to give horrible daniel defense a penny but maybe the quickest easiest cheapest way is to just pay off all these gun nuts and that's that. It is always mostly about money in the end.

That we are having a conversation about “hardening schools” instead of solving the problem - restrict gun access - is crazy. We are literally bending our society into a pretzel to accommodate the gun industry and to make it safer for them to make money on the lives and well being of men, women, and children.

Canada allows gun ownership after a 28 day waiting period, background check, 2 references, and the notification of anyone who is a conjugal partner. That seems about right to me. Oh, and they don’t allow for AR-15s.

Let’s harden gun laws not schools.

It worked in the UK. They got 650k guns through a buy back program - a sizable percentage of guns for the country. Let’s do it! I’d rather pay for buy backs than for barricades for schools.

I’m sure that will work. This isn’t about money. The disagreements are about the laws, not how many of what type of gun you own.

Sure, today they want us to harden doors and put up fences but when the next assault rifle is made that can blow through walls like butter and what do we do?.
