How should I feel about the fact that my next door neighbors put a Youngkin board on their lawn?

LOL, because Youngkin is such a diversity candidate.

They were probably afraid of repercussions from liberals. There wasn’t a single Trump sign in my neighborhood, and LOTS of Biden signs, yet our local precinct went for Trump (on Election Day itself). So you know there are Trump supporters who want to avoid any violence from liberal neighbors. Someone on this forum said that a neighbor loosened the lug nuts on all four tires the night after she put up her Trump sign. Thankfully, nobody was killed when her tires started to come loose.

No telling what some of these liberals will do.

My lovely neighbor gave out Trump candy last year. Like a handmade thing he wrapped the candy in.

Did you ever experience a Trump Train last year? We were caught in the middle of one and it was very intimidating. The Confederate flags, revving of engines in traffic, coal rolling trucks, foul language, disregard for traffic laws, etc. It was all overly aggressive and obnoxious.

More stereotyping - which is what racists do. I’m Republican, as is my brother and mother, and as are all my friends. The LEAST educated among us has a B.A.; most have grad degrees. All are vaxxed. None would be caught dead with a Confederate flag.

YOU JUST TRY TO MAKE YOURSELF FEEL MORALLY SUPERIOR by putting all people who don’t vote Democrat in a deplorable basket. I actually blame Hillary for what has happened here: she gave permission to show total disdain and contempt for people who aren’t like yourselves. Ironically, this is what liberals accuse conservatives of doing. The lack of self-awareness among people who consider themselves so educated and above everyone else is unreal.

And P.S. Being caught in a Trump Train is a lot less scary than being caught in the middle of a BLM riot.

“….afraid of repercussions from liberals”, and “No telling what some of these liberals will do”. The post was in response to those statements.

Trump encouraged the trains. He did the same leading up to January 6 and fuled the fire. I wouldn’t put anyone who voted Republican or other into a deplorable basket. I’ve voted Republican before. I do put into that basket anyone who supports someone who supports Trump (ex. Youngkin).

Pew had 256m eligible voters.

If you asked (via ballot) eligible voters who they supported, <30% supported Trump. It doesn't matter who the other 70% supported. Bottom line, they didn't support Trump.

A more valid % would be looking at ALL Americans who supported Trump, but that is a more difficult # to calculate. That surely would be even lower than <30%. Think of all of the young people who detest Trump. They will be voting soon.

No matter how you try to manipulate it, "half of Americans" aren't Republican.

Ok. . .

"If you asked (via ballot) eligible voters who they supported," 32% supported Biden. Using your 256m eligible voter figure. "It doesn't matter who the other 70% supported."

See how this is an argument to nowhere PP. You've been had.

Stop trying to dig out of the hole.

No matter how you try to manipulate it, "half of Americans" aren't Republican. Dumb and amoral is no way to go through life.

Where is your data? Show us facts. Not your opinion.

Sorry, you’re having trouble keeping up. Bad at math and interwebs? Must be rough. Feel free to scroll back for details, but to recap…

<30% of eligible voters voted for Trump.

If we expand our pool to all Americans than % would drop even lower.

“Half of Americans” aren’t Republicans no matter how desperate you are for that to be true.

Using PP 256m figure. .

<32% of eligible voters voted for Biden.

If we expand our pool to all Americans than % would drop even lower.

“Half of Americans” aren’t Democrats no matter how desperate you are for that to be true.

Congratulations on finally getting the point, but no one claimed that half of Americans are Democrats.

30% Trump
32% Biden
38% Ronald McDonald?

100% Total

This whole line of reasoning goes to complete nonsense doo doo.

Nope. Not Ronald McDonald. Good try though. Do you have 12+ year old at home? Go ask them who makes up the rest.

The only thing "doo doo" here is thinking that "half of Americans" are Republican.

I'm still laughing at the morons who are STILL trying to defend the notion that "half of Americans" are Republicans. Relentlessly ignorant, huh?

Here's a visual since you aren't good with #s. Oh wait - you probably have a tough time with charts too...

Not only that, he inserted himself into a race that Jennifer McClellan was otherwise poised to win and snatched it away with the money he made cashing in on his connections with the Clintons.

She is backing him now, of course, but the lack of enthusiasm for another McAuliffe term is palpable.

Stop gaslighting.

I can knock on every door on my block, and nobody is gonna say they didn't vote for either Biden or Trump.

Stop bringing up "eligible voter" crap, ok? It's nonsense. Less than 50% of voting age people in Fairfax County voted for Biden. That means nothing.

If I check my street, knock on doors and poll, I'm not going to find that less than 50% of my neighbors support or voted for Biden. Stop it. This is a false narrative. It's simply false. This huge swath of anti Biden folks in Fairfax County doesn't exist.

And this why we will vote for Trumpkin.

We are assessing candidates based on the issues and their personal integrity (or in McAuliffe’s case, challenges there with), while you want to make broader judgments and label millions of your fellow citizens as deplorables.

You might step and consider which of those two approaches is more likely to reinforce existing hostilities.

If you support a candidate who supports the guy who tried an insurrection/coup to stay in office - yeah, that's deplorable.

Notwithstanding your personal feelings.

Sorry, you think math is “gaslighting”.

Ok. If you want to talk about ALL Americans, and not just eligible voters, then the % of Rs will drop even more.

50% of Americans are not Republicans.

Yeah. I could almost understand some elderly voter going for Youngkin because he/she doesn’t understand recent events or issues. But if you are paying attention and *still* choose Youngkin based on his “policies”? That’s deplorable.

Youngkin is running against McAuliffe, while McAuliffe seems to be running against a combination of Trump and his own past.

I guess that happens when a candidate hitches himself to the Trump train and all of that insanity.
