I think she had about 20 years with both.

I thought they got together in 2008ish? So about 14 years with Miguel and 26 years with Jack (1972-1998).

The timeline is so confusing. I thought they were together late 50s-late 70s?

I hope when you say late 50s - late 70s, you are talking their ages not the decades.

If they got together in 2008ish, it would be longer than 14 years. Don't forget, he dies as a flash forward scene. It's happening sometime either in 2026 or beyond. We don't know necessarily what year Miguel dies but the kids don't seem to be that old. Definitely around Kate and Phil's wedding so either in 2026 or 2027.

Kevin was already married to Sophie when Miguel dies, and Miguel seems much more frail than he was at Kates wedding. I think the wedding is 2027 so Miguel dies around 2030 is my guess. Then Rebecca a couple years later.

Just watched the Miguel episode and I'm so glad they did it. It was the best episode of the entire show.

This one hit me right in the heart. My dad cared for my mom through a very long (20 year) illness and also refused to have anyone help. At the time we kids felt frustrated but that level of devotion is really so beautiful and not something to take for granted.

She has a big role in Scandal. She isn’t new.

Ugh I knew she looked familiar. Thanks for that. I forgot that scandal existed.

Of course.

When Rebecca met up with Miguel (8yrs later per their online chat) it seemed to me they really messed up the aging, Rebecca looked much older than she should've.

They met via FB when Randall and Beth had their first child. Isn’t Randall’s oldest about 15-17 (maybe 19 if they are in college) for Kate’s wedding? And Jack about 8?

And I believe Miguel’s decline would have taken longer than 2 years. And there’s a scene where the grandkids from Miguel’s son and Jack’s are playing together. They appear to be 5-8? So Jack would at least have been in his 20’s. So at least 15 years past the wedding for the play scene? I’m thinking Rebecca would be in her late 70’s to mid-80’s when Miguel dies.

I didn't like when she called her old ballet teacher after decades to dress him down for not being supportive. That was weird and cringe-y to me. It would have been enough for her to use his behavior as inspiration to be a different kind of ballet-school director, which she did. I also thought she was unfair to Randall to withdraw her support for his campaign so close to the end of it. She gave her blessing at the beginning, and it was asking a lot to take it back after he was fully committed. (This is way back when they had the "big fight.) That said, I love Beth's character. What I like about the show in general is that everyone is flawed and doesn't get it right every time, but they do their best and keep the family relationships going over time.

I hated this, too but I think it may be just because I love Dr. Kovac. 😀 I thought that was out of line but I think the show wanted us to think it was justified.

I still love Beth, and I LOVED the Miguel episode.

Best episode in awhile, although I liked the one with little tiny Jack going to the park on his own.

But this one literally made me tear up all through it.

OMG. Here we go again. Can you folks who seem to LOVE analyzing dates, ages, and timelines just stop?? Just enjoy the show and stop doing this. It ruins the thread!

“And So It Goes” was one of Billy Joel’s most memorable songs (to me).

Agree. I thought that scene was very childish, and out of character for Beth.
