As it is for the Republicans. The D vision is "free everything for everyone, paid for by rich people". The R vision is "lower taxes, more $ in your pocket to spend as you like" instead of "we'll take your money through higher taxes and redistribute it to get more votes". So far, the R vision is prevailing.

Well, other than in actual results over the last 40 years of "trickle down" economics.

Oh please. You wanna see trickle down? See the Green New Deal and the Inflation Reduction Act.

It's getting deep in here. Every progressive complaint on this site is an admission.

Really? How is that? Trickle down cuts taxes with money going directly into the rich folks’ pockets, never coming out save for moving around their investments. Green New Deal and IRA fund infrastructure projects employing people from engineers to contractors to laborers. Money going into those pockets ends up back in the economy.

Why do you not feel the same about your hard-earned money going to Israel? Over the past decades, Israel has received over 300 BILLION dollars in US taxpayer money. Why do you not have an issue with that?

The most vocal critics of Mamdani are Zionists, yet they always stay silent when this is raised. New York ranks #1 of all US cities in terms of highest amount of taxes being sent to Israel.

Exactly. It is despicable. People attacking him and AOC and Bernie - who were legitimately elected by Americans- while supporting a foreign countries involved in our govt

Nobody cares. Why aren't you whining about remittances sent abroad by immigrants, money which leaves the U.S. economy? Maybe you'd like to snivel about U.S. participation in NATO - foreign countries! "Zionists" as the bogeyman isn't playing well.

Hey bill, go take your phony wife and F off. You’re a loser

Oh yes, you’re right. I’m so ashamed! You’re trying to influence an election in a city you don’t even live in full time by lying, scheming and vilifying a perfectly capable candidate who was validly supported by real voters, and you regularly dox students and try to ruin the lives of people who don’t agree with you and your Zionist views. But yes, I am the one who should be ashamed for name calling one time on an anonymous message board.

We'll see how "capable" he turns out to be, campaigning on promises he cannot keep but which appeal to the "more free stuff" crowd who barely pay taxes but want more, more, more without paying for anything themselves.

I suggest you and your pals start paying voluntary additional taxes, since you're in favor of the government redistributing your income to tohers, so the rest of us can keep more of what we earn, spending as we see fit instead of how the government chooses, especially if elected officials vote for more "free stuff in return for votes.

The government is currently redistributing our incomes to rich corrupt fat cats. Voting to put an end to that will be a pleasure.

+10000 now we just need to find a political source of candidates who aren't bought and paid for puppets of their mega-donors. They are needles in haystacks.

I very much doubt that you are rich enough to be affected by this, even if you lived in NYC.

Did you go to work today?

Congrats, you’re the help.

Madmani will not change anything for the better in NYC. Crime and cost of living are about to go way up there, while public education gets worse.

The problem is republicans have gone batshit crazy. They can’t just focus on trying to run a country efficiently. They have to try and control citizens. They should not be in the business of women’s reproduction and what they can do and when and where. They aren’t helping the country’s economy by censoring books read by students. Let them learn that everyone doesn’t live in a Christian house, there are all kinds of people.
Republicans need to stop trying to ban gay parades and drag performances. Worse, stop trying to remove trans children from their homes.

The republicans have lost their focus. Their reputation is in the toilet. It’s become impossible to respect them anymore and that’s too bad.

New York City alone sent AT LEAST half a billion dollars to Israel through taxes last year.

https://uscpr.org/activist-resource/us-military-funding-to-israel-map/

A joke source, to start with. And even so, so what? You don't like it? Move out of New York and back to Gaza. You can give your tax dollars to Hamas, as the Palestinians did while Hamas was the government there.

That’s too much for a city to give to any country. Leave that to the federal government and focus on what’s in front of them. New Yorkers.
