Why do you not feel the same about your hard-earned money going to Israel? Over the past decades, Israel has received over 300 BILLION dollars in US taxpayer money. Why do you not have an issue with that?

The most vocal critics of Mamdani are Zionists, yet they always stay silent when this is raised. New York ranks #1 of all US cities in terms of highest amount of taxes being sent to Israel.

Exactly. It is despicable. People attacking him and AOC and Bernie - who were legitimately elected by Americans- while supporting a foreign countries involved in our govt

New York City alone sent AT LEAST half a billion dollars to Israel through taxes last year.

This guy really triggers the Jews.

But just think how safe the world is for Jews now. Amazing work bibi has done

Would you rather be a Gazan now or an Israeli? Seems like kismet is playing out.

I don’t think anyone ever wanted to be a Gazan. They have no country. They are walled in like zoo animals. It’s sad situation

Nobody cares. Why aren't you whining about remittances sent abroad by immigrants, money which leaves the U.S. economy? Maybe you'd like to snivel about U.S. participation in NATO - foreign countries! "Zionists" as the bogeyman isn't playing well.

Hey bill, go take your phony wife and F off. You’re a loser

So name-calling is what you're reduced to? the last refuge of the witless?

Oh yes, you’re right. I’m so ashamed! You’re trying to influence an election in a city you don’t even live in full time by lying, scheming and vilifying a perfectly capable candidate who was validly supported by real voters, and you regularly dox students and try to ruin the lives of people who don’t agree with you and your Zionist views. But yes, I am the one who should be ashamed for name calling one time on an anonymous message board.

/s

We'll see how "capable" he turns out to be, campaigning on promises he cannot keep but which appeal to the "more free stuff" crowd who barely pay taxes but want more, more, more without paying for anything themselves.

A New candidates is always taking some sort of risk. We all took a risk on Trump and some people think he did a great job others think he ruined our countries. Sorry you don’t get to decide, the voters of New York get to decide.

There’s no “ruining New York City” There’ll be elections in four years and there’s also the city council. Mamdani is running for mayor as part of a broader city government. He’s not running to be a king.

Think Zohran will be the next president of US.

People are struggling. Some had a rough time during COVID, and some are having a rough time with Trump right now. Wages for most Americans have pretty much been stagnant while the rich keep getting richer. Housing costs keep rising, grocery costs keep rising, healthcare costs keep rising yet wages are stagnant and the middle class is getting beat down. All the other issues pale in comparison.

As Carville once best said it, "it's the economy, stupid."

Economic populism is the key to the Dems future

As it is for the Republicans. The D vision is "free everything for everyone, paid for by rich people". The R vision is "lower taxes, more $ in your pocket to spend as you like" instead of "we'll take your money through higher taxes and redistribute it to get more votes". So far, the R vision is prevailing.

The problem is republicans have gone batshit crazy. They can’t just focus on trying to run a country efficiently. They have to try and control citizens. They should not be in the business of women’s reproduction and what they can do and when and where. They aren’t helping the country’s economy by censoring books read by students. Let them learn that everyone doesn’t live in a Christian house, there are all kinds of people.
Republicans need to stop trying to ban gay parades and drag performances. Worse, stop trying to remove trans children from their homes.

The republicans have lost their focus. Their reputation is in the toilet. It’s become impossible to respect them anymore and that’s too bad.

You sound batshit crazy yourself. Go back and read your post and ask yourself if that is how you meant it to come across.

DP. I see this stuff and just feel hopeless for our country. A tax cut is the same thing as a government expenditure. This is very basic stuff. What you’re describing is the same vision but in one scenario the everyone is the wealthy.

They are contained like terrorists and terror supporters, which seems entirely appropriate. No terror, no need for containment.

Less tax revenue is not the same as government spending. It's less government revenue and consequently less government spending. Reduced taxation also means more money kept by taxpayers, to spend as they like, or to invest, or to save for a rainy day or for some other purpose.

He wasn’t born in the US so he doesn’t qualify but I think a pro Palestinian will be president of the US before a Jewish person is

I’ve predicted Netanyahu as the downfall of Israel -US relations for years now. Without the Gaza situation, the Iran war was a death knell even for relations with Trump.

The election of Mamdani on the brink of the war is no accident

Not playing well.

The whiff of desperation behind that statement is putrid …

Jealousy due to relative Palestinian impotence is pitiful. If Americans overwhelmingly favor Israel, there are reasons. Try to figure those out.

Clearly, Americans don’t overwhelmingly favor Israel because aipac or honeypot blackmail Mossad operations wouldn’t need to exist if our respective national interests align.

I don’t think Americans favor Palestinians either but we aren’t naturally in lockstep with Israel’s interests hence the heavy handed manipulation and bribery of congress

I don't see any terrorists being contained—Israelis seem to get to live fully freely.

Israel’s problem is not Mamdani. It’s Bibi.

If they can’t understand the longer he stays in office, the worse it will get for Israel then there’s no hope for them. Netanyahu should’ve gotten the Golda Meir treatment after 10/7. He wasn’t kicked out of office because he’s designed the office so he permanently stays
