Ah, but they’re convincing themselves that somehow the GOP’s total legislative inactivity on this issue is immaterial. We could post that a hundred times in a hundred different ways and they just don’t seem to care that there’s a solution and their own elected officials aren’t making use of said solution.

Such sad little men. They have to spend so much time on here because they’ve alienated their families.

Ah, what spin you've got there little one.

How do you explain the explosion of illegal immigration when Biden took office? Climate change? Violence?
What might account for the constant surge we have been seeing for 2 1/2 years?
7.6 million encounters in less than 3 years......

(and this graph doesn't include 2023 which has already increased from 2022)

....maybe because, according to the note at the bottom of your graph, RIGHT AT THE POINT OF THE MAJOR INCREASE they changed the criteria in which they track immigration and combined it with another data point?

That would mean that the left of the graph is under-representing the actual numbers, which everyone always said were higher than reported.

Sure.

One also wonders why the graph of encounters was so high when Republicans had a trifecta between 2001 and 2007 (and also 2017 to 2019!). Could it be that they have vanishingly little interest in solving the issue, and only want to wield it as a political cudgel?

Of course they have no interest in solving the issue. Corporate Dems and GOP are all about keeping themselves in power.

For a group with supposedly no interest in solving issues, Democrats sure do try to solve a lot of issues.

We are talking specifically about illegal immigration. Keep up.

So I suppose a sheriff in CA working with the cartel in possession of enough fentynal to kill 2 million people is Biden's fault?

I wonder if the OP would like to comment on this

So the GOP would literally be causing open borders by shutting down the government.

Huh? None. I told you they don’t have any interest in stemming it so why would they? Cheap labor is their desire. Dems in general see the current wave as a means of filling jobs Americans won’t do, so they also don’t want to do anything except allow it to continue.

Border patrol is undoing what the states are doing - cutting barbed wire, etc, to facilitate entry.

Without border control, states will take over their own borders.

What the states are doing illegally. Of do you prefer law is subjective only to be followed by some?

If the border was “closed,” Texas wouldn’t be putting up razor wire

It's a political stunt, and it sounds like you're enough of a sucker to fall for it. Sad.

This reminds me of when I attended a relative’s high school graduation and the Mexican female students were unfurling the Mexican flag and draping it across their backs as they walked across the stage. They are throwing it in our faces.
