Then you could see that if those teams played 100 times BRYC would come out victorious exactly once. And that time happened.

Wrong. If Arlington played BRYC 100 times there would be only one clear winner. FCV. Sixty percent of the time, FCV wins all of the time.

Striker and goalie were missing. It was a scrimmage. Why are people still talking about this?

I thought Arlington was looking for a goalie? They stole McLean goalie who disappeared into thin air!

who could blame her. arlington has a well-deserved reputation for being a horror show for goalies.... plus its kickball there. they'll just stick the worst player back there and hope they can just outscore the other team...

This is disgusting. If you knew the circumstances you wouldn’t be talking about this.

That is funny!

Is this true? I thought one of their goalies just committed to Georgetown? And the director is a former goalie from the Canadian National team.

Both the Georgetown commit and the director’s playing background are true. Arlington is as good as anywhere for goalkeepers and better than some. What is talso rue is that no local club is great at training goalkeepers, especially on the girls’ side, but I don’t think that’s unique to this area. Most GKs who want to progress have to add on specialized training.

I don’t think that is unique to just goalkeepers. If any player is looking to play at a higher level, they will need outside training.

Why was potomac on the top bracket for ASIST?

I asked the same question in the Arlington Asist Tournament thread.

Anyhow, Potomac losing 3-0 to Loudon is a surprise. I would have thought they would have lost by a much wider point margin.

As an outsider I easily predicted Loudoun vs Arlington for the final at ASIST but SYC tends to surprise people like myself good luck. DD team doesn't play until Jeff Cup but have scrimmages lined up to prepare our team

Arlington 08 GAL will struggle while their coach is on that sideline. My DD’s team played them last night and he was literally berating his players from warm up to the parking lot after losing to us. I almost felt bad for the girls then I laughed and didn’t! 🤣 At 12 years old most of the kids will simply shutdown with his antics. His coaching style is going to cause some players to regress and maybe even bail for other area clubs!

Anyway, getting ready to adjust our trophy cabinet again 😉

This thread began with the same topics, the same team and the same themes - tourney losses, with a raft of excuses, and a lot of talk about getting the right horse whisperer for the team to make sure that all of the high IQ and cannonball leg talents would continue to be #1 in VA. It all looks pretty ridiculous in retrospect, especially when we are hearing the same things over and over again.

Just fill out the application and you will get in.

It’s telling that Arlington and Loudoun have a loss and 2 ties in 4 games against CCL/NPL teams. Neither get the influx of talent in from other clubs for their ECNL/GA teams and, more importantly, the clubs have no idea how to select and develop players.

I don’t know what it is with girls soccer, but the ‘berating coach’ is so pervasive...And you’re right, most 12/13 year old girls quickly tire of that BS and will find a new team or new sport.
