It's too bad. Susan Rice would be my choice. Shes smart and tough. Her book was great. |
Susan rice’s kid is a huge trumper. She doesn’t sound like someone who can manage a household let alone a country. She’s an administrator, not a leader. |
It will 100% demings.
She has a black husband and three children. This counts for a lot. Obama would Not have become president if he had a white wife. Michelle won him the black vote. Harris and rice are not going to get passes for their spousal choices and in harris’ case, lack of children. This isn’t Europe. |
Demings seems so smart and interesting. Even though I'd be concerned about experience, she seems to have really good judgment and instincts.

I like Demmings. She seems smart, dignified, and personable.
|
I like Demmings, too, but i seem to remember that she presided over some fcked up stuff in her police department, too. If Klobuchar’s record was enough to disqualify her, so too might Demmings’ record disqualify her. |
DEMINGS. Can you please spell the woman's surname correctly? |
HRC won the black vote...98% of black women and 91% of black Americans voted for her. Biden will also win the black vote regardless of his VP. That said....neither Harris or Rice appeal to the swing voters Biden needs....uneducated women with kids. |
Obviously we're not privy to the polling, but my guess is that AA voters would turn out for Demings in a way they wouldn't for Harris. She's much more relatable. |
^^and white swing voters will respect her law enforcement background. |
DP but the OP is right. Completely different attitudes that would surprise you for an interracial marriage. It matters, even if it shouldn’t. |
Doubt it. |
Yes, but turnout was depressed, which made the difference in the election. Had she picked an AA running mate and turnout had been comparable to Obama's, she would have won. |
I agree. She's strong, smart and she has lived the African American experience. I think she can get out the Black vote, which is crucial. |
Particularly since being Biden's VP makes the chance of a black female president much closer than 8 years away. |
