FCPS Skyview Boundary Scenario 1/2/3

Anonymous
The problem with the newest maps are the same problems with the original boundaries. The school board and FCPS leadership didn't do anything to truly address the obvious class preferences in the county. Anyone who looks at the Langley/Herndon Boundary can see the gerrymandering that is taking place there. This "progressive" school board and "progressive" Reid told us they were going to address the inequities but instead chose to support the richest in the county instead of the middle class. Its disgusting and they should not know peace until they fix it.

You’re giving off real “we shall burn down the school system to save it” vibes.

Talk about clueless social justice warrior BS.

I'm curious what neighborhoods the school members live in. Where does Dixit live? Who lives in Walney Oaks?

That was before they took out part of Floris and Fox Mill. And, maybe others.

Fox Mill ES was not at Westfield, they were at Oakton.

Fox Mill has been at SLHS since 2008.

Yes, and before that Oakton.

Bro, that was 20 years ago its a stupid point

DP.

But Fox Mill was never at Westfield. I think that's PP's point.

You all will be interested to learn that Seema Dixit lives in one of the nicer Bull Run neighborhoods that was moved to Westfield in several previous scenarios, but is now staying at Centreville. Houses zoned to Centreville will be worth more when its FARMs rate lowers after apartments are rezoned to Westfield. Not a sermon just a thought.

It kept Fox Mill at South Lakes and sent Crossfield to Skyview. Made sense logistically and objectively. But, then, RIO stepped in.
If there were a good reason to keep Crossfield at Oakton I could understand it. But, I have not see ONE good reason.

Really?

Look at the feeder patterns under Revised Scenario 2.

Carson used to be a three way split (not counting AAP kids).

Under Scenario 2, it has no split at all. Franklin will also have a much better feeder pattern.

Think about it: kids who attend Carson, Hughes, Stone, or Liberty will stay with the same cohort for SIX years.

To me, that’s a huge improvement.

The poster is suggesting that they have not seen a good reason for Crossfield to stay at Oakton, that Fox Mill should stay at SLHS and Crossfield should be moved to Skyview.

Or, since Fox Mill wants to go to Skyview and Crossfield doesn't, Crossfield could go to South Lakes. They are very close.

I don’t understand why Crossfield wasn’t moved to Skyview when they are within 3 miles of it??

I think PP wants this thread locked because there are more criticisms of the revised scenarios here and they think a new thread can be dominated by Oakton and Centreville parents applauding FCPS for leaving them alone.

Or the FCPS staff.
