Hayfield Football Coach Fired

Last night no one spoke at the school board meeting so the school board stated that is a testament to Dr. Reid. School board member said that means she has the community support.

Their parents need to start screaming at their rep. Reid needs to be fired over this

The Robinson seniors should all come in and repeat the FCPS line about seniors needing to play - or does that only apply to Hayfield?

If they were 7-3 I’d argue with u but at 3-7 do they even wanna play, I’m sure some do but most packed it in I’m sure early October

It seems like vhsl could go to a higher court to get the injunction overturned. Circuit court is at the bottom.

I am guessing all other coaches watching closely as this will be new guideline for how to build a team and what will be allowed. If Hayfield plays Edison first, they should win based on past records but admit would love an upset out of the gate.

From Fairfax Times article quote:

“An FCPS football coach didn’t hold back his thoughts on the scandal, saying, “As a Fairfax County coach, I am absolutely embarrassed to be associated with an organization that stands behind cheaters. Our Superintendent spits in the face of all coaches who consistently abide by the rules and go above and beyond for the kids already in their building.”

Fairfax County Superintendent Michelle Reid will remain in her post for another four years. The Fairfax County School Board voted unanimously on Thursday to extend Reid’s contract through June 2028. The new contract details an annual salary of $424,146, plus an annual $12,000 car allowance. Reid’s original salary was $380,000 and was raised annually according to district-wide cost of living adjustments.

I hope every school that plays Hayfield in any sport tries to run up the score as much as possible on them. No Mercy for Cheaters!

Teams were told 3 hours before game time that they are not playing. “Sorry every other team, but Hayfield just got here so we have to wait for them.”
